I was sitting bored out of my mind in Literacy class while the teacher went on about essays and other boring stuff. I started daydreaming about what I wanted to do after school when the teacher said something that made the class get excited. I stopped spacing out because of all the squealing and saw what the teacher wrote on the board... PEN PALS! I hated interacting with new people as much as I hated writing, which is a lot. I accidentally groaned out loud and everyone started looking at me. The teacher asked "Is something wrong?" with a stern voice, "no" I answered softly.
A few minutes pass of students asking questions about the pen pals.
It was finally the end of class and the teacher told us that we had to write our pen pal letters for homework so we could mail them the next day. The day went by normally but I couldn't stop thinking about the pen pal thing.
After school ended I walked home. While I was walking I brought out my phone and started scrolling through TikTok to get my mind off of the pen pal situation. I reached my house in what felt like seconds. I knocked on the door and noone answered, well what was I expecting my parents were working late that night. I opened the door and went up to my room.
I got into comfortable clothes and started doing my homework. I was a pretty good student in most subjects so it went by fast but then it came to the pen pal letter. I wanted to get it over with but I also wanted to take a break before I work on it. I decided to suck it up and do it so I played some music and started writing. A while later I finished the letter and it wrote:
Dear Pen Pal,
I just want to start off by saying I never wanted to write this but I have to. My name is Everlyn and I hate writing so my handwriting isn't on point. I like to watch anime and draw. I have tanish skin and black hair. My eyes are very dark brown. I don't have many friends and the friends I do have are either online or from my old school. I hope you don't think I'm weird because if you do this is akward. I hope you can say things about yourself in your letter.
