Chapter One - The Interview

Lillian's POV

' What a strange place!', I muttered to myself lowly while scanning my surroundings. Few pieces of black, sleek furniture gave the room a minimalist, modern look with floor to ceiling glass and smooth, white marble floors. The blinds were drawn, revealing orange rays and shadows scattered across skyscrapers and streets.

I was in awe at the grand scale of everything before me. I lived on the outskirts of the city with my father for most of my life and had hardly ever been to the city as a young adult. The closest I came to these Goliath buildings was about an hour and a half away where I attended University at one of the most prestigious and difficult schools to get in to.

Tapping my fingers on the heavy wooden conference table, I wondered if the interviewer forgot about me. I started feeling uneasy and was contemplating leaving when I heard the voice of the receptionist I met earlier, on the intercom indicating that the panel will be joining me shortly.

I'm thinking 'wow, they must pay handsomely for this Junior Data Scientist position I'm applying for!' I'm brought out off my wandering mind by the sound of footsteps approaching. I stand up to acknowledge this group of 5 of the most gorgeous people I've ever seen in my life. One by one they step forward extending their hand and introducing themselves to me while I reciprocate.

First guy says his name is Alexei and flashes me a bright, white smile. He's tall and handsome, piercing eyes, mischievous even, slim, athletic build. Awesome sense of fashion. Next guy to shake my hand introduces himself as Matt and simply smirks, but not in a condescending way, more of a 'knowing' way. This guy has a very sharp jawline, commanding even with a dominating air about him, but not in a threatening manner. Then there's the first young woman to approach next, she gives me a warm smile and pulls me in for a small hug, which catches me off guard but I hug back nevertheless. "Jade Armani, a pleasure to meet you sweetheart". She's a beautiful blond with long, waist length hair, gorgeous features and large doe eyes. Next there's an equally beautiful young woman with striking features and full lips, sporting a shorter, funky, pink hairstyle. It makes me smile involuntarily. She shakes my hand softly and says, "the one and only Harper Willow at your service"!

Lastly, in walks the most gorgeous man I've ever met. The moment our hands make contact I felt sparks, literal sparks! We pulled our hands away quickly and while I awkwardly examined my hand, he just stared at me with his mouth slightly open in shock.

Alexei clears his throat softly to take us out of our stupor while Matt announces in a deep, husky voice, "well I guess you've found yours" ! The man whose name is Nikolai, responds with a small smile, still looking somewhat bewildered though, "I guess I have"!
