Skylar

So, today Cairo and I are going to go to school. But I really don't want to because Aunt Flow is in the house and all. And Aunt Flow needs to get out of my house and never return. It would please me greatly.

"Skylar! You have five minutes or you'll be late! Cairo's already down here!" Aaah, the normal yell of Ethan telling me to hurry up. I bet Alec is going to complain soon because he's woken up every day at 7:50. But it's literally not my fault. Why start school at eight something. I think school starts at 8:20. Way too early in the morning for my tastes.

"Just give me a minute," I yell back. I observe myself in the full body mirror on my way to the door. Dark wash skinny jeans with a tight blue top. I honestly didn't think it would be so tight. I bought it a size smaller just because they didn't have my size and I really liked the shirt. It was dark blue with see-through, flower designed arms. The part that covered my stomach was lace flowers. But, it also showed a glimpse of my stomach. Since I didn't really feel comfortable with that, I put a big sweatshirt on over it. It's a shame, I really liked that shirt.

"Hey, ready to go?" I ask cheerily when I reach the front door.

"Obviously," Cairo says. "I've been waiting for fifteen minutes."

I shrug and open the door, letting her walk out first. I close and lock it with my key Ryder gave me afterward.

"It was only fifteen minutes," I say nonchalantly.

"Fifteen minutes too long," Cairo replies, just because she likes to have the last word.

I roll my eyes and unlock Ethan's car door. I can pretty much call it mine. I use it all the time. Plus, he has a whole bunch of other cars.

"Excited?" I question Cairo. She's been moving non-stop ever since we got in the car five minutes ago.

"Yeah, who wouldn't be, it's school?"

I throw my head back and laugh. I laugh so hard that tears form in my eyes. But when I try to blink them away, all they do is come out.

"You just wait until the end of the week."

"I will. And my opinion will be the same."

"If you says so."

"I say so," she fires back, and reaches over to turn the radio on. She turns it to 92.3 and starts to sing along to Ayo.

"Really? We only have one class with together? That's some bullcrap," I say. The only class we have together is Calculus. And I hate that class. I hate math all together. Do I really need to know double integrals out of school? In life period? I don't think so.

"That sucks butt," Cairo pouts. "But how do I look? Really. I don't look like a bum do I?"

I pretend to asses her outfit, although I know she looks fine. She was wearing a black, loose, long-sleeved top that said "CLOTHES BEFORE BROS" in white print and a pair of light blue jeans with black boots.

"You look awesome. Now what's your first class?"

"Government."

"I have that class right after lunch. That is right down the hallway. Room 223."

"Thanks. Now I have to go before I end up late."

I push her in the direction of her class, and smile when she glares at me.

I was wondering why my classes couldn't go in the same order as hers. I mean, we had all the same classes, they just went in a different order. Mine went U.S History, Calculus, French, Lunch, Governemt, Physics, AP English Literature, Free Period, then Gym. Sadly. Cairo's went Government, Calculus, AP English Literature, Lunch, U.S History, Free Period, French, Physics and Gym. Totally sucks.
