Amari's POV:

"So... you're here because you missed us?" Willow, Renato and Paxton's adopted daughter, asks us as we sit in the living room drinking tea. "You haven't visited us much before."

Lexi shrugs. "Is it a crime to miss my niece?" he asks, sipping his tea with a smile.

Willow purses her lips. "You're here to do something stupid, I can already tell," she says, looking around to make sure her dads aren't listening. "I wanna help, tell me what your plan is!"

Lexi and I summoned Alastor and came to Italy, claiming that we really missed Paxton's family and asking if we could stay for a while, and Renato accepted graciously. However, Paxton seemed more suspicious, and it appears as though Willow took after Paxton where as Seremi, their other child, was just happy we came to visit.

"I am offended that you think we're up to something," Lexi says, finishing his tea and putting his little plate and cup on the table. "What would your parents think, accusing your guests like this!"

Willow narrows her eyes. "I can tell you're lying."

"I am not!"

"Yes, you are!" the werewolf argues back. "Please tell me, I promise I'll keep it a secret!"

I believe she will, because Willow is a respectful girl and she's really smart. Honestly, it would be a benefit to have her on our side in this, because Willow knows more about the vampire community than we do, as she is the daughter of a vampire.

Lexi seems to be on the same wavelength as me, because he shares a look with me and sighs before revealing out plan.

"You want to crash a vampire meeting?" Willow whispers, looking around the room as if someone was spying on us. "Come with me."

We follow Willow to her room and she lets us sit down on her bed before she runs out of the room and returns with a letter.

"Here," she says, handing it to Lexi. "Read it quick, before my dads come home!"

Master Renato,

We are pleased to invite you to this year's vampire meeting on May the 26th, taking place at the home of Master Christo. You are permitted to invite one guest.

We look forward to seeing you.

"Where is Master Christo's house?" Lexi asks once Willow has put the letter away and is sitting on the end of her bed. "We're crashing their secret meeting."

Willow tilts her head in confusion. "But... my dads are going. They can tell you what happens."

I pull Lexi into my lap and rub his stomach to calm him down, because apparently discussing breaking into a secret vampire meeting that he doesn't even know will be taking place excites him, and he needs to relax.

"My baby here thinks that there will be a secret meeting that excludes your dads because Paxton is a sin and vampires and demons don't really mesh all that well, apparently. He thinks that the meeting will be about attempting to find and free Roman and cause harm to myself or the other human-demons," I explain, and Willow nods slowly.

Lexi nods frantically, completely relaxing in my arms. "That meeting is tomorrow and I know Pax won't let me sneak in if he knows, so Amari and I are going to sneak in on our own."

"That doesn't sound very smart," Willow says, unease in her tone. "What if they catch you?"

"Renato is one of the strongest vampires alive," Lexi tells her, as it's common knowledge to everyone who knows of the vampires. "He won't let us be harmed."
