should start with some context, this is a story about a boy and a girl... how they fell in love but couldn't afford to be together, now I know what you're thinking, "here's another Romeo and Juliet story, another teenage love story" perhaps another meaningless, insignificant love story between two people who were too young to know what they wanted, but you see the difference is that they were brought back together time and time again. How it happened? unknown, all they did know was that they were brought back together to complete something within each other that no one else could. Something that could only be filled with love from one another. you might be thinking, "Another he's my other half, she's my other half kind of love" But in all honesty, it was much more than that, they didn't need another half to feel complete, they needed each other to feel a form of purpose in such a life that felt empty...
you see the difference between a life with purpose and one without is the feeling of happiness... life without purpose is simply just existence, and just existing doesn't provide happiness.
So our story begins with two individuals without the feeling of purpose... until they crossed paths...
Chapter one: the beginning
"I was alive, I was free of the world's expectations...and then I woke up,"
I say as I explain to my therapist the reoccurring dream I have. What's the dream? you may ask, you'll find out soon enough, but for now, I focus my thoughts back on my therapist who is trying to tell me what this dream means.
"typically a reoccurring dream means your brain is trying to tell you something but you won't listen, as in you are running away from something, perhaps out of fear, but if you would listen to it instead of trying to get away from it, you would be better off."
"Okay, but what could I possibly be running away from?" I ask.
"That's for you to figure out Octavia, and our time is up," she says standing up from her seat.
I give her a look hoping for her to say something reassuring like "You will figure it out and it will all be fine" but nothing.
"Okay," I say as I stand up to leave her office, walking out to my mom who was waiting in our car.
"How did it go?" my mom asks me as I click my seatbelt into place.
"Fine," I say to her with the same answer I give to the same question she asks every week.
"Are you hungry?" She asks pulling out of the parking lot
"No I'm okay, I'll eat something later," I say pulling out my phone and headphones to listen to music.
School ended not too long ago so it's been pretty boring for the most part, there's not much to do other than chill in my room and watch TikTok, my best friend Emily is out of town with her family for a few weeks because they are going to see her grandparents, and I don't have many other friends so I'm pretty much just by myself most days. I go on a lot of walks to pass time and just kind of an escape from my mind, I'm in therapy right now because of my depression so sometimes it gets noisy in my head, even if the room is completely silent.
We get home and I go straight to my room, I pull out one of my favorite books "Forbidden Love" It's basically about this girl/princess who has no one until she meets her true love... but her parents forbid her from seeing her because she was in love with another woman, they didn't approve of their love. This is pretty accurate in today's society, parents non accepting of their kids simply because they don't fit the idea of what they think their child should be. I like reading books like this because I feel it gives another level to what the average love story would be about, you know all that boy and girl crap, now don't get me wrong, some of those stories can be great, I just think stories that go outside the original idea of love have a lot more depth and meaning to them than just the average Romeo and Juliet stories. Also maybe I like them because I feel I can relate to them as a bisexual in a world where there is so much hate.
I have yet to experience love, but I hope when I do it exceeds my expectations. Anyone I have told that to has said "Don't get your hopes up" or "You shouldn't have expectations for a relationship"
And as I agree with that partly, I still think that you should be able to expect that when you meet the one, all expectations will be exceeded, because if they are the one then you wouldn't see any flaws in them.
Now I'm not saying relationships have no hardships because I'm sure they do, I'm just saying the person themself wouldn't have any flaws in your eyes. Anyway, I'm getting off-topic here, back to my story...
I finish a few chapters of my book and head downstairs to the kitchen to see if there's anything good to eat. I look in the fridge to see some leftover pasta, apples, and a couple of other things, nothing looks good so I decide to order something...
"Pizza sounds good"
I say to myself placing the order, about 20 minutes later a hear the doorbell ring, I answer the door and the boy handed me the pizza, as I take the box I can see his fluffy brown hair and stunning brown eyes that the sun hits perfectly to make them glisten, I swear this guy had a perfect face.
I just stand there holding the pizza in awe probably looking like an idiot.
I'm snapped out of my trance by him saying "You okay?"
"Wha- Oh yeah I'm fine"
I blurt out now in awe of his voice,
It's deep but not super deep, like not fully matured, but a little raspy.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry, let me go get the money"
"It's fine don't worry" He chuckles
I bring back the money and hand it to him, our hands grazed over one another's feeling the obvious spark as I hand him the money,
His hands were so soft.
"Hey um- this is gonna sound weird but could I maybe get your number?" He asks
"..."
I pause for a moment not sure what to say and then
"Sure!" I blurt out
We exchange numbers and he tells me he will text me later, I close the door waving and squeal as I carry the pizza to the kitchen counter,
"I can't believe that just happened"
I say to myself still in shock
"Can't believe what just happened?"
My little brother Greyson says entering the kitchen and taking a slice of pizza.
"Nothing!" I say trying to hide it.
"Okaay?" Greyson says
"I'm going to my room, you can take one more slice," I say to my brother who just finished stuffing his face with the first slice of pizza he took.
"Mk," He says with his mouth full.
I go upstairs to my room and turn on my TV to watch a movie, not long after I start the movie I get a text...
