As we drove downtown, I started to have a sinking feeling, like something bad was about to happen and I knew it. The sky was getting darker and little rain droplets started falling from the sky.
"Damn, stupid rain," Jhett said, accepting the rain.
"We almost there?" Jack asked.
"Almost," I replied, keeping my eyes on the overgrown road.
We drove into the main downtown area and stopped right onto the curve. Jhett, Jack, and I jumped out of the golf cart and landed into a puddle of water. Mae, Conner, and Kaycie got out right behind us.
"What the hell is that?" Mae asked, pointing to the top of a building.
"What?" I asked.
"Holy crap," Jhett said, seeing the same thing she was seeing.
I backed up out of the view of a tree and looked where Mae was pointing. On the roof of a building was the tentacle monster.
"Damn it!" I said, jumping back into the golf cart.
"What is that?" Mae asked, oblivious to its damage.
"Everyone! In the golf carts! Now!" I yelled.
Everyone started running to the golf carts as it roared in anger. Jack and Jhett jumped into the golf cart I was in and we started to go, but the monster hit us before we could get too far. The monster smacked us and we got launched into a building.
"Guys!" Conner yelled, jumping out of the golf cart and running towards us.
The monster screamed in anger and started climbing down the building. Mae and Kaycie jumped out of the golf cart and ran towards us, jumping through the broken glass window.
"Get the others up, I'll hold off the monster," Conner said, jumping back out of the window and opening fire on the monster.
Kaycie and Mae helped all three of us up and we ran outside to help Conner fight the monster. I jumped out of the window just in time to push Conner out of the way of the monster's giant tentacle.
"Thank," Conner said, standing up.
"Any time," I replied, getting up and getting back to the others.
I stood next to Jhett, ready to kill the monster. We ran towards the monster and started fighting it. I got the first hit with a slice to its torso. Conner came up behind me and shot the monster from a distance. The monster screamed in agony as we started swiping at it.
"Shoot it!" I yelled to Conner as the monster grabbed me with one of its tentacles.
Conner launched an arrow into the monster's eye and it let me go, dropping me onto the concrete. Jhett helped pull me from the spot where Salvullaz had dropped me.
"C'mon, just leave it!" Jhett yelled to Conner.
Conner shot one more arrow and it hit the monster in the face. The monster roared and ran away in the other direction.
"Are you okay?" Conner asked me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'll be alright," I replied, walking into the building's broken glass window.
I sat down on the ground, looking out the window. The small town was destroyed, there was no possible way that it could be rebuilt, even if Salvullaz died and everything went back to normal. I was scared of the future, I had no idea what was going to happen once Salvullaz died.
"We probably need to get the golf cart out of here," Kaycie said, walking towards it.
"Yeah, right," Jack replied, walking after her.
Conner, Mae, and Jhett went to the golf cart and started to push it out of the window, hoping to get it back outside. After a few minutes of trying to push it outside of the building, it finally pushed out and we were able to get on our way.
"You alright?" Jhett asked.
"Yeah, I'm good," I replied.
"Alright. We need to get outta here, so c'mon," Jhett said.
"I'm coming," I said, getting up and walking to the golf cart.
I got up and started to the golf cart. I hopped in and started it up.
"Y'all ready?" I asked.
"Yup," Jack said.
I pressed on the acceleration button and it started moving forwards. We drove downtown and took a left. We rode for a few minutes before we reached the outside of the neighborhood that the house was on.
"Why'd you stop?!" Mae yelled from the other golf cart.
"It's back..." I replied, quitely.
"What?" Mae yelled.
"Shh!" I yelled back.
Then, a demon moose came running from our left side and smashed the golf cart I was in, flipping us on our side. The Demon Moose roared and continued to smash the golf cart. I grabbed my machete and was able to stab it in the skull.
"Zack!" Jack yelled, trying to flip the golf cart over while I was being lifted up.
I let go of my weapon and fell onto the ground, Jack and the others pushing the golf cart up. My machete was still in the Moose's head.
"Damn it!" I yelled, the moose pushing the golf cart over again.
I crawled backwards as four more demon moose surrounded us and started closing in.
"Seriously?" Mae asked sarcastically.
"We're screwed," Kaycie said.
I stood up and ran to the flipped golf cart and jumped on it, grabbing onto my machete that was still in the Moose's head. I was hanging onto the machete dangling in front of the Moose's mouth.
"Hi there," I said, pulling against the Moose and pulling my machete out of its head.
I fell and hit the ground with a thud, my machete falling out of hand and sliding across the pavement. I crawled backwards, but Conner shot some arrows at the moose that was in front of me and distracted it enough that I was able to get away.
"Here," Mae said, throwing my machete up into the air for me to catch.
"Thanks," I replied, catching it and getting it ready.
I stood in front of everyone, about to run to the demon moose, but they froze and all turned around, facing the forest. We were all confused, but were frozen not to make a sound.
"What?" I whispered.
"I don't know," Jhett replied.
The moose whipped around and started running through the forest. We stood frozen and confused, waiting for the group of demon moose to come back, but they didn't.
"Where'd they go?" Mae asked, looking around.
"Let's follow them," I said, running to the place where the moose herd went in.
The rest of the group followed me as I ran into the woods. We ran for a little bit until we reached the entrance of a neighborhood. It was the neighborhood that the house was in. We started running to the house at the end of the street to find out where the demon moose herd went. All of a sudden, the ground below us started shaking.
"Is the ground shaking for y'all too?" Jack asked.
"What the hell is happening?" I replied, looking down at the ground.
I looked up to see that the house was shaking uncontrollably. Then, it exploded and ghosts and spirits came flying from the house, just like they did the first time.
"Not this again!" Mae yelled.
All of the spirits came flying towards us. I started smacking the ghosts from the sky. They fell through the earth as we started moving towards the house.
"Go back!" I yelled, starting to back up.
"What?!" Jack yelled back.
Then, an explosion threw us backwards onto the concrete. I sat up to see ghouls and demons flying around the now open entrance. I was stunned, but not for long as I stood up and looked around. I helped Jhett up to his feet to see what I was seeing.
"Damn it," Mae said, standing up.
"We're screwed," Kaycie said, standing up behind her.
"What do we do?" Mae asked.
"We fight. Let's get back to the house and collect the fireworks. We need to do some damage to Salvullaz before anything else happens," I replied, starting to run in the direction of the house.
This was it, we were either going to kill Salvullaz or we were going to die. We were most likely going to die since we were barely teenagers. We came out of the woods to see the golf carts flipped on their sides, but we flipped them back over and started to the house.
"How the hell are we going to kill Salvullaz?" Jack asked.
"Fireworks. With all the fuses connected, we can launch a hundred or more fireworks at once and kill Salvullaz," I replied.
"Have we tried that?" Jhett asked.
"No, but if it doesn't work, then we're dead," I replied to Jhett.
We pulled up to the house and started grabbing as many fireworks as possible. We let down the seat in both golf carts and put about twenty fireworks in each. I grabbed the big firework and placed it in the back of my golf cart. I ran back inside the house and grabbed the bag with the book and Ruby's Knife and put some fireworks into the bag.
"Are you guys ready?" I asked.
"We'll see what happens," Mae said, jumping into the driver's seat.
It was getting dark and storm clouds started rolling in, so we knew it was going to be one hell of a battle.
"What happens if we all die?" Jack asked.
"The entire world will be destroyed," I replied.
"So... planet destruction basically," Jhett said.
"Yup," I replied.
Life was in our hands and if we screwed up, all of life would be destroyed and it would be our fault. We were the saviors of the world. We were ready to kick some demon ass.
