We pulled up to the entrance of the neighborhood and stopped for a few seconds to think about what we were about to do. We had to destroy the entrance for Salvullaz to die and for everything to go back to normal. This would literally be the fate of the world.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, trying to imagine what would happen if we failed. If we did fail, it would be the literal end of the world. It was stressful, knowing that if we failed, it would cause the end of everything.
"If we fail this, it will cause the end of the world," I said, sitting back in the golf cart.
"Then let's not fail," Jhett replied.
"It won't be easy, but I think that if we try hard enough, it'll be easier than if we don't try," Mae said.
"Let's do this," Jack said, jumping out of the golf cart.
"What's the plan?" Kaycie asked, getting out of the golf cart behind mine.
"We need to destroy the entrance, AKA the house at the end of the street. If we can somehow block it off or destroy it, Salvullaz won't be able to come back out and cause mass damage to earth. If we use the giant firework that we made, we could put enough explosives that could destroy the entrance and stop Salvullaz from destroying the world," I answered.
"Easy," Conner said.
"Let's hope we don't die," Jack replied to me.
"It's impossible, but at least we tried," Conner said, turning towards the entrance of the neighborhood.
We started towards the house on foot, as it would be more of a secret entrance than someone knowing we were about to attack. It would prove to be effective, or we hoped it would. We were either saving the world, or destroying the world.
"Stand close to the tree line. We want to set up sort of a tripwire firework attack," I said, pulling a few fireworks out of my bag.
"How are we gonna do that?" Conner asked.
"We stick the fireworks on the trees. Mae, I need you to stay back here and arm the fireworks while the rest of us fight Salvullaz. Jack, I need you to watch Salvullaz and alert us if he gets too close. Kaycie, Conner, Jhett, I need y'all to help me weaken Salvullaz so when we launch an attack, he'll be too weak to fight back against the fireworks. Oh, and we need to enchant the fireworks with Ruby's Knife so it'll hurt Salvullaz worse," I finished.
"Alright, sounds easy enough," Mae replied.
I finished pulling out the fireworks of my bag and started placing them next to trees.
"All you have to do is light the fuses and they'll explode on their own," I said, handing Mae the lighter.
I stuck my head out of the woods a little bit and saw the house, sitting still and silent at the end of the street. The front door was swinging open and the windows were shattered. I stuck my head back into the forest and went over to Jack.
"Stay back in the forest and keep a lookout on Salvullaz. If Salvullaz appears before we want him to, just alert us ASAP. sConner, Kaycie, Jhett, and I will try to get him out of the underworld. Once that happens, I want you to help Mae with the fireworks," I told Jack.
"Alright," Jack replied, running back into the woods.
I pulled out the Ruby's Knife out of my bag and broke off a bit. I walked over to the massive firework thingy and sprinkle a little bit of the Ruby's Knife onto the firework.
"Conner, Jhett, and Kaycie, all four of us will weaken Salvullaz long enough for Mae to launch the giant firework and finally kill Salvullaz," I told them.
They shook their heads in agreement and we started off to the house. I held my breath as we walked closer and closer to the house. I felt worried that everyone would die if we failed.
We made it to the front lawn of the house. The houses around that house had fallen and the trees around the house had also fallen. It was like looking into a demonic circle of some sorts.
"Since I started this, I think it's right for me to end it," I said.
"What are you planning on doing?" Jhett asked.
"This," I said, pulling out a firework and lighting it with a match I had in my pocket.
I threw the firework into the air and it launched, exploding into the house, breaking a hole in the roof. We stood in silence for a few seconds before the ground started shaking. My eyes stayed fit on the house as the ground shook for thirty seconds.
"What are you doing?" Kaycie said, falling over from the shaking ground.
I stood still, grasping my machete harder and harder with each passing moment. My heart was racing, probably going a hundred miles an hour, as I stood there, watching the house and waiting for Salvullaz to pop out of the house and destroy us all. Then, the ground stopped. Everything was quiet and still. Thunder pounded and a little sprinkle of rain started to drizzle on our faces as we stood still.
"Did we win?" Conner asked.
"We're just starting," I replied, the ground starting to shake violently again.
All of a sudden, Salvullaz crashed through the ceiling of the house, becoming a fifty foot monster. He looked down on us, looming over us like a dark storm cloud. I stood, frozen, my eyes fixed on the giant monster.
"Damn it," Jhett said, backing up a little bit, but remaining around the same place he was.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the losers that can't seem to kill me," Salvullaz said, hovering over us like a menacing animal.
"Maybe it's because you had to send out friends to help you," I replied, staring him dead in the eyes.
"You'll NEVER understand the extent of my power. You will die a puny death that nobody will remember," Salvullaz said, trying to get into my head.
"Just shut the hell up and fight us already, you coward," I said, getting my machete into a 'ready to strike' position.
"As you wish," Salvullaz said, shrinking back down into the house and flying out of the front door.
Salvullaz snapped his fingers and a bunch of people appeared in front of us.
"Oh god," Conner said as the people started to appear.
There were tons of people facing us. I knew all of them. Jarrett, Jace, Jacob, Adam, David, Evan, Tristan, Madison, Seth, and Thomas stood in front of us. All ten of them had metal bats.
"We're screwed," Jhett said, terrified of what we were seeing.
"We might need Mae and Jack for this," I told Kaycie.
"Mae! Jack! We have a situation!" Kaycie yelled.
Mae and Jack came running from the hiding spot, their weapons drawn. Conner presented Mae with a bow and a few arrows. It was the bow that Gracie had before she died. The thunder was pounding louder and louder as the rain started to hit our faces harder by the second.
"We can't screw this up," I said, looking Thomas dead in the eyes.
"We're screwed. There are ten of them and six of us, and I don't even have a real weapon. It's a freaking hockey stick," Kaycie said, shaking her head.
"Guys. This is it... the finale to end all of the finales," I said, standing ten feet away from Thomas with five on each side of him.
Mae, Kaycie, Conner, Jack, Jhett, and I walked up and faced all ten of them, two on my left side and three on my right with Jhett on my left and Mae on my right. My hair was waving in front of my face as the wind blew across our faces.
"This won't go well," Mae said, doubtful.
"We have to trust each other," Jhett replied.
"On my count, we run. 3... 2... 1... Go," I said, all six of us running the ten feet towards the ten of them.
I got the first swing into Thomas' stomach, slicing him open like a bag of chips. Mae launched an arrow into Adam's head, knocking him over onto his back. Jhett thrusted his spear into Jacob's torso and knocked him backwards. Conner launched a couple of arrows into Thomas, now sticking out of his back.
"Get the Crimson Wolves... I'll get Seth, Tristan, and Madison," I told Jhett, running off to fight the three.
I blocked Seth's blow with his bat and knocked him over. Madison swung the bat, but she missed me and fell to the ground next to me. Tristan ran towards me, but I thrusted my machete into him, knocking him to the ground and injuring him.
Seth got back up and swung hit bat, hitting me in the back. I fell over on my face, but I flipped myself over and thrusted my machete into him, killing him. I threw the body over onto Tristan. Madison retreated to the others.
"Kaycie!" I yelled, throwing her my machete.
She caught it and thrusted it into Jace. Jace fell over, dead. Kaycie threw it back to me and I sliced at Jarrett, causing him to fall onto Jhett's spear. Jarrett was dead. David was killed by Mae with her bow and Evan was killed by Conner with her bow.
Thomas was the last one of the people that Salvullaz brought back. All six of us were still alive.
"How the hell are we still alive?" Kaycie said, laughing.
"Get Thomas. Once he's down, that's it," I said, running towards Thomas.
Thomas swung his bat in my direction, but I dodged the blow and tried to push him over, but Thomas got the upper hand and grabbed me by the shirt collar.
"Give it up. You're dead meat," Thomas said, about to smash me in the head.
Thomas froze, just about to hit me. He turned around to see Jhett's spear in his back. Thomas punched Jhett across the grass where he hit the ground with a thud.
Thomas pulled Jhett's spear out of his back, ready to kill me with a single blow to the heart. I closed my eyes, ready for the impact. Thomas let me go and lifted up the spear... and threw it. BAM! I opened my eyes to see the spear had hit Kaycie right in the stomach!
"No!" Mae yelled, running over to her.
Kaycie had pushed me out of the way of the spear, hitting her instead of me. I crawled over to Kaycie, hoping for her to be okay, but it didn't look that way. I stood up, ran over to Thomas, and sliced his head clean off, killing the giant once and for all.
"Kaycie..." Conner said, standing over her.
"You... you saved me. Why?" I asked Kaycie.
"I felt you needed to live," Kaycie said, barely able to speak from the injury.
Jhett slowly pulled the spear out from Kaycie's stomach. Kaycie winced from the pain, but was alright a moment later.
"I'm sorry. This is my fault," Jhett said, walking away from her.
"No, it's not. It's Salvullaz's fault," Kaycie said, barely talking above a whisper.
"It's alright. We won't forget you," I said, keeling down next to Kaycie.
Kaycie shook her head, and closed her eyes. She took one more deep breath of air and stopped. Kaycie was dead, and there was nothing we could do about it.
"Damn it!" Mae yelled, throwing down her bow.
"I'm sorry," Conner replied, trying to comfort Mae.
"No! She's dead! It's Zack's fault we're all going to die!" Mae yelled, blaming me for Kaycie's death.
"C'mon, Mae! We've lost plenty of friends. Us more than anyone else," I replied, trying to help her.
Mae sat down on the curb and looked forward.
"Good job, losers! You only lost one person!" Salvullaz announced from the house.
We all turned around to see Salvullaz standing next to the house, with a double sided sword in his hand.
"We all liked that one person, so shut the hell up!" Conner yelled to Salvullaz.
Thunder pounded and the rain poured from the sky. Salvullaz's eyes glowed red from the fog. Mae got up, grabbed her bow and was ready to kick Salvullaz's ass. Conner, Jack, Jhett, and I came up next to her, ready to finally kill Salvullaz.
"Here comes the thunder," I said, all five of us running towards Salvullaz at full speed.
