I didn't expect this to happen to me. Especially not the day I turned seventeen either.
Ya see, everyone in the little town of BlackWaterFalls believes in superstition, and any little thing that happens they claim it's "Aliens!", or werewolves or demons or insert your supernatural paranoia here. Me? I never believed in any of that. Sure I did as a kid, but when you're a kid you believe everything. You even believe the fact that some woman comes into your room at night and just takes a tooth and gives you money for it. That's being a kid. Being in high school is a whole different ball game though. You believe in what you believe in and no one messes with you. For the most part, and there's a crazy superstition about the night before you turn seventeen. And get this, it's in the form of a rhyme(I know, huge shocker right?). It goes like "the night you turn seventeen, visits a man of shadows with eyes yellow green. To ward of his evil spirit and his brothers, don't open your eyes and awake from your slumber for if you do you'll be as he too, a spawn of the night, causing everyone fright." I called MAJOR Crap, like anyone SHOULD do. That was the day before I was supposed to turn seventeen. That was the day.. I wasn't my self anymore.
