Okay so I'm a bit late with this update and I start school again tomorrow so they might take longer. But enough of that, here is chapter 10 and I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 10:

I instantly wanted to run from them but I knew I wouldn’t get far. I mean, everyone around me were fully fledged vampires for Christ’s sake. I’d never out run them. That didn’t stop me from being nervous.

A butler walked over at that moment and announced to us, “May I introduce to you his Majesty, King Piotr and her Majesty, Queen Viktoria.” He then turned to the King and Queen, “And may I introduce to your Majesties, Alexander Petrov, Lorna Petrov and their estranged daughter, Issaelya Petrov.”

He then scampered off as quickly as he came. It was then only me, my ‘parents’ and the vampire monarchs left in the entry hall.

A nudge to my side caused me to remember my manners. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both, your Highnesses.” I smiled demurely at them.

“Please, do not speak so formally with us.” Requested the Queen, “You are going to be our daughter after all.” Her voice was soft yet commanding. And the smile that accompanied her request was dazzling.

“Yes, and call us Piotr and Viktoria. That way you will feel more comfortable with us.” Piotr’s voice had a slight accent. I became curious as to where he grew up.

Alexander spoke up, “Perhaps we should go sit somewhere.” He suggested, “We have a lot to catch up on, Piotr.” They smiled at each other as they walked to what I later learnt to be a drawing room.

Once seated, I became increasingly uncomfortable. I didn’t know whether it was the way Piotr and Viktoria looked at me or the way we sat in silence for about five minutes. Maybe it was a combination of both. Either way, I felt as though I could drown in the awkwardness that filled the air around us.

Not being able to stand the silence any longer, I decided to speak for the first time since we had entered the room. “So, when is the Prince getting here?” I mentally face-palmed myself at such a forward question. It wasn’t like I wanted to meet him anyway.

Piotr smiled, “He is due to arrive in,” He looked at the fancy watch that adorned his wrist, “31 minutes. But, knowing my son, he’ll probably either be early or late. Either way, he’ll arrive on time to meet you.

I nodded in acknowledgement but said nothing. I didn’t feel the need to really. Tuning out the conversation, my mind wandered to the things I had left behind. Rae, Shauna and Trent stood out the most prominently. I had only been gone a few days, but I already missed Rae’s pervertedness, Shauna’s bubbly personality and Trent’s laid back attitude. It hurt that I would never see them again but what hurt more was the fact that they would never even remember me.

“…I know Lucien can’t wait to meet her.” I heard Viktoria state with barely contained excitement. Then something hit me. Did she say, Lucien?

Surely she couldn’t mean Lucien Hartland? The one that glared at me in school? No, of course not. Lucien wasn’t that an uncommon name. It was just a coincidence, I tried to reassure myself. Right?

“How about you, Issaelya?” Asked Lorna.

“Sorry?” I questioned rather ineloquently.

I thought either Alexander or Lorna would scold me for not paying attention, but, to my relief, they just chuckled at me instead.

“I was asking about whether or not you are excited to meet your intended.” Smiled Lorna.

“Oh, well,” I began, unsure on how to answer. Was I excited to meet my future husband? Of course not considering I didn’t want to get married before the age of eighteen anyway. And I definitely didn’t want to meet him if he was in fact Lucien Hartland like I suspected. “Yeah, kinda. Just a bit scared, I guess.” I finished lamely.

“Well, there is nothing to be scared of, dear.” Piotr reassured me, “Lucien has been dying to meet you since we told him of your betrothal to him 2 months ago.”  2 months ago? I only got told a few days ago.

I was about to question this when one of the butlers burst through the door. “Your Highness, Prince Lucien has arrived. Shall I send him in?” He spoke directly to Piotr as if forgetting there were others present in the room.

“Yes please, James. It’s time for him to meet his bride.” James bowed before ushering someone forward.

“Introducing his Royal Highness, Prince Lucien Hartland.”

If my jaw hadn’t dropped the second his name was said, I was certain it was touching the floor the moment he walked in.

Stood before me was the guy I had previously referred to as Hottie Hartland.

A/N:

I was thinking about making a cast for this but I have no idea on who to use for the characters. If you have any ideas please tell me, or not. It was only a suggestion. Until the next time, Buh Bye.
