The generals looked at me with their eyes wide and faces full of fear. They stepped away so I could get by. I took Zoey's hand and walked out of the demon den.
"It's weird that you hurt me to keep me from getting hurt."
That's all that came to my mind on the way home. She didn't seem to say much but maybe it was cause of the whole demon thing.
"I'm sorry. I hated to see the person I loved in so much pain."
"It's ok. I just wish I knew what you were planning."
She held my hand and got closer to me. I swear my heart was beating faster as we walked.
"Is something bothering you, Zo?"
"The girl. Natalie. She loves Derek."
"A demon capable of love. They still hold on to some part of humanity I guess."
"Yeah. I think you're right about that."
We finally made it to the apartment to see Kloey passed out on the couch. I carried her to the bed and tucked her in. Zoey passed out soon after I put Kloey in bed. I picked her up and tucked her in right next to Kloey. They looked like two sisters sleeping together so the other didn't get scared. I walked out to the skylight and looked out into the stars.
I'll protect them..I picked up my guitar and played the first song that came to my head.
" ..oh misty eye of the mountain below..keep careful watch of my brothers' souls..and should the sky be filled with fire and smoke..keep watching over Durins soul."
I played and sang for hours. It always calmed down the anger and hatred I had. I put down the guitar and walked back inside. There I saw Kloey looking at me with eyes full of tears. She ran to me and gave me a bear hug.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Thank you.."
"For what?"
"Bringing my sister back.."
At that moment I understood. She was waiting for Zoey. That was so kind of her. I hugged her back and tried to give her strength.
"I swore I'd protect her."
"I know."
"I'll win this war."
The next day Kloey took Zoey for some more training. They decided that I had to stay away from any huge hive of demons to avoid the final fight. I agreed cause I would rather fight Satan than to fight my girlfriend. I went to the living room and called the tracker. I closed my eyes and spoke a prayer. Nothing seemed to happen for a while. As soon as I was gonna walk out and find another way to train the room started to shake. I felt a familiar energy but nothing I could actually point out. The lights flickered on and off. Their was a loud ringing in my ears that almost make me give in and fall. But at the last second everything stopped. No noise and no flickering. I tuned around and saw a blonde guy looking at me. He had short ramped up hair with a white over shirt with white dress pants. His eyes were almost a crystal blue. Their was no sign of an emotion on him.
"Who are you?"
"Hello, Dante. I'm Gabriel."
"The archangel."
"Correct."
"Do you want a drink?"
I walked over to the kitchen and pulled a bottle of champagne from one of the cabinets.
"Holy water."
"I know you're an angel but do you really drink holy water?"
"That was a joke."
