A/n: trigger warning
"Lincoln Blaze Lawson," ooh, sounds so foreign. Our eyes met, he smiled. I just shook my head while clicking my tongue before avoiding his gaze. "I am a Psychology student."
"Kaya pala may sira ang tuktok." I whispered, napatingin naman sa akin si Kia na nakakunot ang noo. Ngumiti lang ako at umiling,
"I chose to be here in this class---uh. No, I didn't choose it. I went to this class because I am curious. And I think my curiosity was made by fate... And fate pulled us closer again." Nanlalaki ang mga mata kong napatingin sa kanya, but he's not looking at me. I just heaved a sigh.
Natamaan ka, girl?
It might not be you, dumbass.
"Okay, Mr. Lawson. I hope you don't get bored in my class." Professor Han said with a smile, "How may we call you?"
"People call me Blaze, aliens call me 'Apoy'." he answered, making the class chuckle.
Napabuntonghininga na lang ako. Ano ba kasing ginagawa niya rito?
Dumaan ulit siya sa tabi ko, I can smell his cologne.
The Essence of Justice
That's our first topic. She told us the deep meaning behind justice.
Everything is bound to happen, but not everything is what they truly are worth.
Because sometimes, people have no choice but to meet a tragic ending. May it be because they have done something wrong even though they remorse for it so much, they have to protect someone, or just they have to.
Justice is flexible, it can be bent to the right side and it can be bent to the wrong one. And whatever happens, it must always be to the right side.
But the moon above is shining so bright, not enough to light up the world.
"Okay ka lang ba?" Kia asked, I looked at her, sabay kaming naglalakad papunta sa parking lot. "You're spacing out too much, what happened?"
"Uh, nothing. I am just thinking about the class." I smiled at her and held her arm, nagulat naman siya doon pero hindi nag-protesta. "Thank you, Kia! Thank you for recommending this class to me, I've enjoyed it!" I said with a huge smile, she smiled back and nodded.
"You are welcome." She answered,
"Shanice!" napatigil ako, maging si Kia ay napatigil. I clutched my bag tightly after hearing that voice.
"Kilala mo?" Kia asked,
"Just happened to bump into him." Si Blaze, "What?" I asked,
"You forgot this," he gave me my pen.
"Thank you," I said. I was about to walk away when he called my name again. "What again?"
"Shanice," he whispered. "Why does your name sound so familiar? And your face," he asked.
"We met more or less than five times." I said,
