"You're cursed, Elinor." He spoke softly, but not really looking at me. I saw Davids back tense ridgidly and his fists glench.

Stefan breathed in deeply before he continued.

"She said, that a witch named Malin, is mated to your father, and she is punishing him for being with your mother, and having you. Your mother was cursed too. It is a timebomb spell, your mothers were 20 years." Stefan explained slowly.

His face was pained as he opened his mouth to speak again.

"Yours is 20 days, from the day you met your mate." He whispered.

Before any of us could react an eardeaffening growl came from David who started marching towards the hut.

Stefan grabbed him quickly.

"David no - she will only trade equally. If Anna lifts the curse Malin will know and come to kill her. She will only trade a life for a life." He whispered pained. "I tried barganing with her, she wont budge."

Davids face fell into frustration.

"We have fourteen days to find Malin and kill her to end the curse. It's our only way out..." Stefans words were pained and he did not dare to look at David again.

"Why am I paralyzed?" I asked with a whisper. I had not noticed the tears starting to fall, but I could not do anything to stop them.

"Anna thought it might be Malin trying to protect herself. She knows the lengths one will go to protect their mate, and she don't think any mate would leave their paralyzed loved one..." Stefan said looking directly at David.

"You know we have to leave her, Anna said she could look after her." David's eyes were ablaze, completely black and the pure anger emmitting of off him could scare even god himself.

Curtly he nodded, but looked away with pain in his features.

"Elinor?" Stefan had crouched down in front of me. "What ever you do, no matter what. Do not trade with her." He had been angry with me several times, he had even been civil a few, but this kind of seriousness I had never seen. His expression scared me, the wounds, his missing eye and the panic he showed, rooted a deep felt fear in me.

I nodded, with every intention of keeping that promise.
