Mona
"What's the plan Bonita?" Salvador asks.
We're lying in bed now. My throat feels sore and I feel faint from sitting in the sun for so long but Salvador has been taking care of me. It's really sweet. He places the back of his hand on my forehead with a concerned look on his face, and then on my cheek.
"What's the plan my love?" He repeats. His words are softer and it makes my stomach flutter and i display it with a small, tired smile. I bury my face in the pillow shortly after, what if he thinks my plan is stupid. He holds me tightly and overwhelms me with kisses all over my head and shoulders and neck. "Tell me Bonita."
I look at him with sneaky eyes. He smiles at me sweetly. It's weird, he only smiles that way to me. I bite my lip in anxiety and stuff my face in the duvet. "Let's merge our families, let's get married." I mutter. He pretends not to hear it, thinking maybe he misheard what i said. He lifts my head up with both his hands, the brightest smile is spread across his face. "What did you just say?" He asks excitedly.
"Marry me stupid." I repeat, louder, although reluctantly. His mouth is slightly ajar and his hold on my face grows tighter. He spreads kisses all over my face and lips. "I wanted to be the one to propose, Boba [silly]." He says deeply, pinching my cheek in his large fingers.
"It's not a proposal, it's the plan, it's just business." I clarify and his face drops "I'm sorry Salvador, if I were to actually propose to you, it wouldn't have been so basic, you know."
He nods knowingly but i still see the disappointment in his eyes. "Then no." He says, falling back into his pillow and turning on the television like a toddler having a tantrum. I grab the remote from his hand and turn it back off instantly.
"What do you mean 'no'?" I ask, in an assertive tone.
"I'm not getting married to you if it's just a business deal. What the fuck Mona? You know I love you and you're acting like all we are is mafia partners!"
I smile at him slowly and roll my eyes. I sit up in sudden realisation however, when I recall one thing he's just said. "You love me?" I ask him, he's never told me that before, neither of us have. Shit, is it too soon?
"Well, yeah, what can you expect Bonita? Look at you. Everything about you is just—" he looks at me "and I just, yes, I love you—" i muffle his words with a kiss. His lips are always so soft.
"But my plan requires us to get married." I admit.
He looks at me inquisitively "Okay, okay. Just let me propose, let me do it my own way, and please pretend that you didn't see it coming." He chuckles lightly and I do the same. I greet his beautiful, scary face with a quick peck.
"Of course papi."
He nuzzles into me. I have a feeling that he's never been this vulnerable with anyone, because neither have I. I've never cuddled with anyone like this, I've never conspired with another person and enjoyed it, I've never had a boyfriend that I actually wanted to commit to. He holds me tightly, I feel warm and at home. But a scary feeling arises in me. I've survived this far because I've had a hard, outer demeanour. Will i collapse because of this change? I try not to think about it, and close my eyes.
I suddenly feel his boner pressed against my leg and I open my eyes and look at him. He glares back at me as if it's nothing "I have a boner like whenever I'm around you Mona, it's just harder to hide when we're like this." He says seriously and sternly. I chuckle lightly and place my hand on his jaw. "Do you want me to fix it for you?" I ask provocatively.
