Aaron gazed down at his apprentice, who were also his daughter, lovingly. And she returned his gaze with a smile, today was her ceremony where she finishes her training as an apprentice. Violet came up from behind and pressed her muzzle against his flank, which made Aaron jump
"Well, are you gonna start it or what?" She said hastily, humor gleaming in her eyes. Aaron nodded and jumped onto the great rock
"I gather here for a meeting" he called in a steady voice. Animals of all species appeared out of their dens, making their way to their leader. Felicity scrambled to her father and sat beside him, giving him a few glances from time to time.
"Felicity had been training for several moons and has been a proud apprentice of our clan" he stopped to look at her, who's eyes were gleaming with excitement. Aaron rested his muzzle on her head
"Felicity," he began "you've provened to be a great warrior of our clan. And now it's time to hold your vigil"
The crowd of animals burst out into shouts, cheering on felicitys name. Felicity searched around the crowd and finally hopped off of the moss covered rock to her clanmates. He then noticed violet was not among the crowd of animals, Aaron bounded over to her den to check if she were there
......
"Violet?" He pushed passed the bracken that blocked violets den, she was curled up in her nest, gazing at the walls of the large den. She turned to face him, her eyes tired

"Yes?"

Aaron swallowed the bile in his throat
"You seem bothered by something. Why weren't you at felicitys ceremony?"
Violet seemed startled by the question. She turned to the ground "i-it seems like my legs are failing me. I was tired I guess.."
Her voice trailed off. "..it's just.."
Aaron took a step forward and loomed over violet "what's troubling you? I don't like seeing you like this"
His voice was thick with emotion. Violet looked up at her brother, her eyes clouded With sorrow
"I need time to think by myself"
Aaron stood there for a moment, and nodded respectfully, turning away from her. Glanced at her once more then finally took away from her den. Once Aaron took a paw step away from violets den Felicity bounded over to him
"There you are!" She said cheerily. Aaron looked down at his former apprentice "sorry. I was paying a visit to violet" his gaze softened on her.
"Well you should check out this rabbit clyde caught. It's huge!" Felicity trailed off without him and glanced back at him "aren't you coming?"
Aaron shook his head "sorry kiddo, I'm sort of busy at the moment"
Felicity frowned and slowly padded away from him, her tail dragging on the ground. Aaron felt hurt seeing his daughter like this, but it was true, he was quite busy that morning. Aaron was planning to go to bîrd to get poppy seeds for violet. He padded towards the medicine den where bîrd was sorting herbs, it was decorated with vines and flowers, there was a hole through the roof top where sunlight basked on the floor of the den. Bîrd looked up to face him
"If Felicity has gotten hurt from bramble throws then I'm running short on cobwebs" there was a spark of humor gleaming in her eyes. Aaron shook his head
"I'm retrieving poppy seeds for violet" bîrd looked at him thoughtfully "what for?" Aaron sat down and shuffled his paws awkwardly
"Well, I'm worried" he didn't continue it any longer. Bîrd frowned
"I understand. I'll give you some time to think about it" she grabbed a folded leaf which held the poppy seeds inside of them, then pushed it towards her leader. Aaron nodded his gratitude
"Thank you," he picked up the poppy seeds and held them in his mouth, being careful not to crunch them between his jaws. He turned from bîrd and exited out of the den. He gazed around the clearing, there were kits play fighting, apprentices sharing tongues, and elders sharing prey. Aaron couldn't believe how weakened violet seemed with how peaceful the camp was. He had never seen his sister like this before. Aaron walked over to violets den to deliver the poppy seeds, just then eva, violets mate, popped out
"Aaron.." Her voice was trembling, but she held a steady gaze "Violet has gone missing"
