Becoming Evil

"Where's my happy ending?" Audrey quietly sobs. She doesn't understand how Ben could choose that villainous bitch over her. She's perfect, and Mal isn't. Mal has one of the worst villains in the land for a mom, and her mom is a queen. She should've been the one to marry Ben. But now the kingdom is uniting behind a villain, and just like tigers can't change their stripes, villains don't truly stop being villains.

"Well, if they want a villain for a queen, I'm going to be the most evil one they've ever seen." Audrey says out loud, not knowing that her words will free a dark fairy who has been waiting for a chance to corrupt an innocent soul. Her entrapment would only last as long as no innocent person wanted to become truly evil. But Audrey's words are like a long distance key unlocking her cage.

Audrey stands and walks over to a picture of Ben and her and takes it out of the frame. She grabs a pair of scissors and cuts him carefully out of the photo, making sure she's not damaged. She takes Ben's half and places it in the unlit fireplace, grabbing a lighter and flicking it on before bending down and bringing the flame to the picture, the edge of the paper catching almost instantly at the heat.

"Take that, King Ben." Audrey says bitterly, not noticing the fairy that has appeared behind her. She watches until it all turns to ashes, and she turns around, intent on making a plan after some sleep, but she freezes and lets out a gasp.

"Who the hell are you?!" Audrey shouts, eyes darting around the room for a weapon to defend herself.

"I wouldn't bother with that, darlin'. I'm a dark fairy. You wouldn't get two steps before I killed ya. Besides, I'm not actually here ta hurt ya. I know ya probably had just about enough o' that. I'm here ta help ya love." The woman says, a thick Irish accent apparent.

"Help me? How?" Audrey says in confusion. As far as she knows, dark fairies don't help anyone without serious payment.

"Well, earlier you said you wanted ta be evil. I'm here to teach ya how. No cost. Any good girl I can corrupt is payment enough. It'll be fun. Promise deary. There's a process ta this sweetness." The fairy says, stretching her arms out and letting her four translucent black wings out into the open.

"Wow." is all Audrey can think of for a moment. The dark fairy smirks as the girl gets distracted. Audrey shakes her head and says "You can't seriously think that I'll believe you want nothing for helping me, do you? And stop calling me those names."

"Surprised, most people are distracted by 'em longer. And I'll explain it better this time. I am getting something from ya. Just not regular payment. I'm corrupting yer soul. That is more than enough payment. And as long as ya offer parts of the rewards ya reap as a villain ta me, I'll never bother ya about any other form of payment. And ya will get my servitude as long as ya live. This doesn't mean ya can boss me around, but if ya ever want some help with anything, well, anything not trivial, I'll be there for ya." The dark fairy explains, her smile exposing her sharp, pointy teeth.

"Okay. Well then, we have a deal. But, what's your name? I don't wanna just call you dark fairy lady." Audrey says, excited at the chance for a revenge.

"My name is Myra Byrne. I'm glad we can be friends deary. Why don't ya get some sleep and we'll talk in the mornin' about the first step ta becoming evil." the woman says, folding her wings away and sitting down next to the bed.

Audrey nods and gets into her nightclothes, crawling into her queen sized bed. She lays on her stomach, spreading out like a starfish, and after about twenty minutes, she's out like a light.

Myra sighs, thinking back on what caused her to get trapped in her cage. Not even Hades wanted to free her.
