There's a circle meeting tonight, James is the guest of honour. They haven't been able to celebrate his new gift and Joan has news for him. Marielle heads the meeting, she congratulates her father, the group is amazed, they don't know how he got it. Then Joan tells the group, Joan was in contact with the ancestors, in fact they contacted her as they were annoyed that she let Alisa get away with attempted murder, they threatened to strip her powers, but she like her daughter is on her last legs. They explained to Joan that James got his power, for merely focusing on the craft like any born witch, even more so. Celeste quips, "they should've stripped your powers mom, had that been me and don't say you love us the same, but I'm 99.9% certain that you would've burned me." Joan tells her it's not true, that when she has her baby that she'll understand. This shocks Celeste, she asks her mom, "do you know something I don't?" Joan tells her just to visit a pharmacy once the meeting is done. Celeste angrily says, "see, this is what I mean. If that was Alisa pregnant, you would've pulled her aside at the end of the meeting and suggested that she get a test." Joan says, "I give up with proving myself to you, Celeste. You've not been around for many years. Yet all of a sudden your the arbiter of what's good for this coven. Stop your jealous and bitter whining." Celeste tells her that "I'm definitely not jealous of a sad little girl, that because she was rejected by the woman she was in love with and tried to burn down our town and it's inhabitants. I wouldn't have done that no matter how I felt about anyone." Joan tells her to drop it and asks to be excused from the meeting? Marielle grants it. Marielle knows Joan is right, Celeste is pregnant, she doesn't know how to feel about it. James is over the moon, he can't hide his joy, they plan to head straight to the pharmacy once the meeting is over. The odd thing is, that she too is late, that's probably why she doesn't know how to feel about her father and Celeste's news? Marielle approaches Celeste and says, "pick me up a test too, I'm a week late." Celeste goes to congratulate her, but Marielle stops her saying, "I don't know how I feel about being a mom, it's not been on the top of my list of priorities. The coven is my priority, that could change if I can get the balance right, between my studies, the craft and managing five covens, would a baby throw a spanner in the works?"
Celeste and Marielle head to the pharmacy after the meeting, not telling their husbands where they were going. They buy the tests, they head to the diner where Marielle once worked, they go into the stalls and they both pee on the sticks. They stay in the stalls for the two minutes required for the test to work. They both get positive results, Celeste is elated, but Marielle isn't 100% convinced her pregnancy is a good thing. Celeste sees the worry in Marielle's face, she tells her to order some coffees and they can talk about it. Marielle explains it's all about the balance, she has a job, she is studying, she is the high priestess. Celeste says, "this is why the covens are a sisterhood, you'll have built in babysitters in every family, if you're not sure still, talk to Marc after all he needs to know and understand the tasks you undertake." Marielle says, "it's my body, my choice." Celeste says, "of course you're right, but at least talk to him. He's your husband after all." Marielle promises she he will. Marc calls Marielle and asks her where she left with Celeste after the meeting? Marielle says, "baby we need to talk, I've news." Marielle cuts her chat short and heads home.
Marc is stood by the door with a huge smile, Marielle is wondering does he know? Given his vast array of gifts it'll be hard to hide from him. Marielle hands him the pee stick, he looks at her and says, "so, my suspicions were right, I knew you were late this month baby, I had an idea." Marielle replies, "so, how are we going to deal with this, with all we have going on right now?" Marc says, "baby, we have the support of so many people, as the old saying goes, it takes a village to raise a baby, in our case it's five covens. We can do this. However I feel you're not certain, you can have all the time you need, after all baby, it's your body." Marielle smiles and tells him she will think about it. Marielle then says, "im getting a baby brother or sister, Celeste is pregnant. She is delighted." Marc is happy for them, he texts Celeste to congratulate her, he doesn't text James as he doesn't know if he knows yet." The truth being, James knew it was coming weeks ago, but he had to keep the news to himself. James will be delightful according to Marielle, he's always wanted a son, so he'll hope this baby is a boy.
Celeste tells James, he's ecstatic, he sends a text to everyone in his phone book, the excitement in his message, brings tears to Marc's eyes. He looks at Marielle and she smiles and says, "you're right, Celeste was right, we can do this, we can be parents and still juggle our lives." Marc lifts his wife up and asks can he share the news? Marielle says, "baby, put an ad in the local paper, I'm feeling such a maternal urge. That I can't wait to share this news." Marc says, "are you serious about the ad?" Marielle laughs, "no baby, but you can shout it from the roof tops like you want to." Marc like his father in law informs everyone he knows, the family that Marielle has always dreamed of is finally happening. It's happening faster than she had hoped but, everyone has made compelling arguments on how good this will be for the community and the covens. Marielle gets a vision that her baby will be special, the power from her and Marc will make their baby even more special. The covens confirm her vision, the baby will have the powers to protect every witch in the world. It's a lot of burden to be put on one soul but he or she will have the power to change the craft for the better. Marielle is petrified at this prospect, Marc is extremely happy, that their baby is the first to be blessed by the ancestors.
