I was wondering about what we would do in the hall... Would we go through a bunch of boring slides? Will we be notified of an Orientation Camp? Will we have any tests to determine our class? Will we play games?
I really had no idea of what we were going to do... We reached the hall, sat accordingly and we were greeted by some teachers. Our school principal was there as well. Well... I knew it, we WERE definitely going to go through tons of boring slides as the screen was down.
After all the slides shown, I expected there to be more talks about this school and other important things but there wasn't anymore. In the slides there was also the mention of an English Efficiency test on the exact same day. I was flabbergasted. I thought the test would be really hard and that I wouldn't be able to get good marks.
While I was thinking that, some secondary four students went on stage and started to host everything. They hosted lots and lots of games to get to know each other and before the games, my OGL (Orientation Group Leader) told me that we didn't have to wear our ties unless we are in the student council and on assembly dates. Well... That was embarrassing...
I kept my tie and listened to the OGLs. They introduced themselves and we introduced ourselves as well. I was in Orientation Group 6. We played fun games like Whacko, I was devastated when I heard the game was going to be whacko as I have played it before and it was quite hard.
We played all the way until recess time, which was at 9.35. I also began to like the fact that recess was 45 minutes since my Primary School was 30 minutes but little did I know that each period is 45 minutes long.
I didn't eat a lot during recess... I just drank milo since I am not that familiar with the place and I don't want to slow down the line. Our OGLs also tried to communicate with us so that it will be very fun and enriching.
Since we were in the express stream, we headed off to classroom to take our English test. I went into class "1E3". I knew that wasn't my final class since the arrangement was by name and I thought that the test would determine our class. I still thought the test was going to be hard and I was quite nervous. After the test, I've decided that the test wasn't that hard.
It was lots of good fun that day. I was especially excited for next week since I knew that maybe I would get my class and that maybe I can play more and they told us it was orientation week so I was happy. After a while, we went home at 12.35pm as it was a Friday.
