Runaway AU III: Quirk Test

This is a random scene from way, way further into this AU than the previous chapters. The idea behind this is, at some point, Otsuka and TT came clean to UA to protect students from another attack (probably the summer camp, at a guess). Angry at their planned attack failing, The League organises a different attack with neither TT or Otsuka around to leak it to anyone.

During this attack, to protect some other students, Otsuka reveals her quirk is much more than the 'weak energy quirk' listed in her file. The following scene comes shortly after that.

I think I also, potentially, planned for Otsuka to move class at some point so that she has Present Mic in her homeroom maybe? Or maybe I originally planned for her to be in Present Mic's homeroom from the beginning? Not entirely clear on that.

"We want to get a good look at your quirk, test the limits, get a better understanding of it."

"Why?"

The teacher tucked his chin into the capture weapon around his neck. "It's listed wrong in the database, the principal would like to correct that."

"No, he doesn't." She didn't believe a word. "You guys want a better understanding of my quirk in case you ever have to fight it. I'm a wild card and I'm dangerous, everything you don't want."

"That's not-"

"It's ok, I don't blame you." She would've done the same thing in their place. She'd been a traitor once, after all, they needed assurances they could handle her if she turned again.

"Your quirk description does still need updating."

She scoffed, head shaking. "If Nezu wants me to make it to my sixteenth birthday without someone trying to kidnap me, he'll leave it alone."

The man frowned, looking almost concerned. How sweet, the underground hero, Eraserhead, worried about little old her. "What do you mean by that?"

She glanced up at him. She'd assumed he knew more about her quirk, the way Nezu had started to figure out, enough to understand how dangerous it was for people to know. She'd spent too much of her childhood being warned that anyone and everyone would want her for her quirk. She was a living weapon, powerful, villains liked that. "You'll find out eventually, I'm sure. So what's the deal? Why did you bring me out here?"

"For your quirk test. There are twenty robots in the streets, take as many down as you can in twenty minutes. After that, Nezu has some more fine-tuned tests for you."

Otsuka sighed, letting her hands fall into her pockets and leaning back on her heels. She met Aizawa's gaze evenly. "No."

"If you're worried about the robots, then-"

"I don't have a problem with the test, I have a problem with you."

There was a split-second when he honestly looked affronted, but he quickly replaced it with bored irritation.

"You want me to do the test, ask nicely."

One eyebrow rose, the bored irritation intensifying.

"I spent half my life being poked and prodded. I've had hundreds of quirk tests, none of which have given any real insight into my quirk, none of which I had any choice in."

The eyebrow fell, but the bored irritation was still firmly in place. Somehow, she suspected it was just a mask to hide whatever he was really feeling.

"I have a choice now. So if you want me to do the test, don't tell me, ask me."

The man turned, facing the open gate that led into one of UA's many massive training grounds— the urban one. "Will you do the quirk test?" He kept his eyes focused forward on skyscrapers. "Please," he added, only looking at her again when he was finished.
