I saw my old teacher the other month. The thing is, she died a year ago....

I've been seeing dead people ever since I can remember. Sometimes they haunt me, but usually they just need help, to, you know- get to the other world. My gran had the same gift as me- she told me...before she passed. But since then, my life has been the opposite of ordinary, and my unique gift has caused me a lot of problems. I've had to move school 4 times, I've lost most of my friends, (and now all of them because I'm moving-again), and even my own parents are insisting on taking me to regular appointments, because they're worried about me, ( which is the polite term that adults say when they think you're nuts). This is my last chance to fit in, create a good impression, and try not to make everyone think I'm a phsyco.

"Ooogh, isn't this lovely. We're so lucky to be in a beautiful place like this. It's totally different back in the city. It's not every day people move to the seaside you know." That was my mum. She's an optimist, (as though you can't tell), and if she broke a leg she'd probablies say; "Well, it could of been worse. At least I didn't break my other leg too!" She's desperate for me to make a fresh start. After all, imagine being an old people's carer with a daughter that everyone knows sees dead people and faints in class. That wouldn't go down well with her job. There was one time when this quiet girl in class didn't turn up to school. She was very odd, (if I might say so myself), and never got handed a jotter and never got spoken to by anyone, (even the teachers)! So the day she didn't turn up, I asked the teacher where she was. She had never missed class before. And that's when everyone started laughing at me, and realised I really was nuts. The teachers were really worried about me, (and obviously thought I had gone nuts too). They knew I had a brilliant imagination, but still, it wasn't like me to become an Oscar winning actress in a day. But anyway, lets get back to the story. I agree, the place is beautiful, but I've got other things on my mind right now- and I think you can guess. "Just give her some time to settle in. Neither of us are used to living by the sea either. I'm sure she'll love it once we settle in. She loves an adventure!" That's my dad. Thinking he knows everything again. But my dad, on the other hand, is funny and extremely intelligent. He works as a scientist in Geology, and gets paid by the government for working at home. If I might say so myself, he's the one that's nuts! In our old home dad had a huge laboratory in the basement, that he inhabited to work and study on everything to do with science and space. If I ever need help with homework, he's the one I'd go to!

We suddenly jerk left and head up a big hill where the lighthouse stands on. At the top, next to the lighthouse, there was a lovely, cosy looking cottage made of white stone. There was 2 windows looking out over the holiday park on the front of the house. It looked perfect! A big field spread across the hill and consisted of pretty flowers, a gigantic greenhouse full of fresh fruit and veg, a small running track and, best of all, at the end of the field stood a tall treehouse. That would keep mr happy! Dad parked the car. Perhaps this was going to be better than I thought.

I couldn't of been more wrong....
