Beckett's pov
"Finally, I thought you all would never get here." The captain gave an audible sigh of annoyance. "Sit in these chairs, we are about to leave the atmospheric dome."
And yes, she said dome. Our planet, Mars, doesn't have a atmosphere that we can breathe in. So our early ancestors built an atmospheric dome so we could live here while Earth grew back. Sadly, it hasn't shown any signs of growing back anytime soon so the people of Asline are stuck here for a long time.
Earth is survivable but there is no way to grow any food or any materials to build structures. At least, not any good materials.
We walked over to the chairs she told us to sit in. Jess was on my left, Avery on my right, and Lyre in the very front by herself.
The twins and Kelsey we behind me. Kelsey was oddly close to Felix but he didn't seem uncomfortable about it.
Avery leaned over to me, "I love the fact that we all took a seat behind Lyre. I guess the captain was right. But don't tell her I said that, she doesn't like it when people assume she's the leader, and hates it when others don't like that she's automatically given the role." I nodded my head. I could understand where Lyre was coming from, she didn't want the power without earning it. But in a way, she did earn it.
She took care of Avery and Kelsey's wounds, she knew what was happening to us and why we were given scarves, and she even silently gave us all jobs that suited us. She even was given the ability to get the others out of their cells by the captain.
"Ladies and gents, I give you, Mother." The captain ushered for us to look up and we saw a strange symbol type face looking thing come down from the ceiling.
"Hello. I am Mother. I will be taking you to your destination whilst you are in the cryogenic sleep. Please buckle your seat belts so I may take off."
I buckled immediately not wanting to anger the A.I.. Everyone else slowly did what they were told not being to sure of Mother. As soon as it sensed we were all buckled it took off.
I looked out the windows and saw many brilliant constellations and even galaxies. I could see the strip of our galaxy the Milky-way.
"You may unbuckle and head back to your designated rooms. Would you like me to escort you back?" A smaller version of Mother popped up in front of Lyrenna.
"Thank you Mother, that would be appreciated by those who would like it."
Mother then split into three of it's symbols and took the twins out the door. Jess and Kelsey soon followed with our trio trailing after them. Mother led us down a different hallway and into the same room but through another door.
"Your bags can be put on the top of the dresser. There is a tablet under each of your pillows. You will be able to have it before and after cryo but you may not take it to Earth. You can call your friends on these tablets but only Lyrenna Danielles is allowed out to go see them."
"Wait, but the captain said before that all three of us were allowed out." I asked, being very confused.
"The captain was wrong, she misunderstood my command. Only Miss Danielles can leave." And with that, Mother disappeared.
"Well dang. I wanted to see my sister. Well I guess I can call her." I said shrugging
"I'm going to call Kelsey." Lyrenna said.
"Why? Aren't you supposed to hate each other?" I asked.
"We have never hated each other, it's more of a frenemies thing. And I'm going to ask if she can make more clothes from the ones we were given. The girls don't need pants or thick long sleeves like they gave us. I'll ask if she can make a couple cloaks too. Then I was going to call the captain and ask for some blankets, tents, and pillows. At least until Beckett can build shelter. With Avery and the twins' help of course." She seemed to be talking to herself now instead of me.
