I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing, Bri was texting me. Since she was obsessed with being perfect, she immidiatly asked me what I was wearing. I knew that was Bri code for, " I can't wait to see what ugly outfit you picked out this time!' I then, wanting to show her that it's not going to be ugly, took half an hour reading Teen Vogue fashion articles to help me decide what to wear. I eventually picked out a cute floral shirt and some short-shorts. I then texted Bri back,

"So this is my oufit, I was thinking about changing it....."

"Uh.... NO! You actually decided to wear something cute! Shocking!" Bri texted back.

I stopped texting her, I wasn't in the mood to hear about how perfect she looks. I then went to do my hair. I never really ared nmuch about what my hair looked like. My motto was, as long as its brushed, I'll let the day decide where it's headed. I straightened my hair, and I actually looked like a girl. See I actually have really long healthy hair, but I never really cared much for it. Now I regret all of the years of my life when I stopped caring about my hair.

I walked down the stairs smelling my favorite smell in the morning, bacon! When I got into the kitchen my mom dropeed the spatuala she was using to flip the pancakes. She didn't believe it was me. There I was Kelly Wessner, standing awkwardly in my kitchen while my mom was guawking at me. Talk about AWKWARD! I sat at the island and my mom handed me a plate with my breakfast on it. She then sat on the stool next to me. She told me about how proud my father would be of me, going to highschool, confident and beautiful. That comment made me cry, bye-bye mascara! We didn;'t talk the rest of the time I was eating my breakfast. She then offered to give me a ride to school.

The ride to school only took about 10 minutes. To my surprise my favorite song was on the radio, it made me think my day would be okay. when we got to school I asked my mom to just pull up to the front and drop me off. She wasn't really okay with it, she never just dropped me off at school. She always went to the principles office the first day to make sure I wasn't scared. Ahe always treated me ike I was a baby at school, so in middle school I finally asked her to just drop me off. I begged her, and she finally said yes. So I hopped out of the car and strated walking up the steps to the front door. My mom told me to go straight to the principles office to get my locker number and the list of my classes.

When I got into the school right away I was lost. It was huge, with halways going every direction. Someone must have seen how confused I was because a tall girl with black hair in a ponytail came up to me. "Lost" The tall girl said. "Ya, how'd you notice!?" I said snickering a little. "Hmm...I wonder? Do you need help getting to the principles office?" "Ya! Do you mind showing me the way?" "Nah, I'm going there anyways." "Cool thanks! Freshman?" "Ya" She answers and we begin walking down the hallway that was to the left of me. "How do you know these hallways so well? Aren't you a freshman?" "Well, ya, but my sisters have gone here before me so they've shown me around."

There was a huge line of students at the principles office. About five minutes later I was the next person in line so I walked into the office. I waved, the principle waved back, and I told her my name. She then gave me my papers, and I walked out of the office. The tall girl was waiting for me.

"I never introduced myself, I'm Carly Smith. The soon to be captain of the basketball team."

"Hi I'm Kelly Wessner, who is also trying out for the basketball team, just not so sure if I'm gonna be captain."

"Nice to meet you" I then nooded my head. "So what classes do you have first? I have Honors English, can't wait to be bored to death!" Carly said.

"Oh, I have Honors History, could you by any chance tell me where that is"

"Oh ya, that's down the hall and the last door to your right."

"Thanks! Have fun being bored to death!"

I then walked down the hall to the last door on the left. Sure enough it said History. I opened the door and sat in the only empty seat, next to a guy, that I soon found out was named Luke. He was extremely cute. Blonde hair, blue eyes, like that guy in movies that only the popular girl can date. The teacher then told us to tell her our first and last name when her finger was pointed at you. She pointed to me last. After that the lesson began. It was so easy, I knew everything she was teaching, so I decided to just doodle in my notebook.

The guy sitting next to me, Luke, then looked at me, and then at my notebook. I am actually a pretty good artist, so I wasnt embarrassed. I was drawing my old house, I knew exactly how it looked, so it wasn't a challenge to draw it.  Luke then nodded to me, like he was saying good job. I nodded back. When class was over I went straight to my locker. It was a tall locker, not one of the half-sized ones I used to have at my middle school. I opened the locker and put my new History book in it, and a hoodie. The rest of the day I had regualr classes. Until lunch my day was like any other school day.

The cafeteria, like the rest of the school, was huge, and packed with a bunch of teenagers. Most kids were already seated at a table with their lunch, so I decided to hurry up and get into the lunch line. I took a tray and said good afternoon to one of the lunch ladies. The girl in front of me, to my surprise was Carly. I was so releived, I didn't want to have to sit alone. When she grabbed her lunch she waited for me to get mine. I grabbed a turkey and cheese sandwhich with lettuce and mayonaise, sour cream and onion chips, and some water. Carly then asked me if I wanted to sit with her. I obviously said yes. She walked to a table with 2 girls, and 3 guys. They all said some form of hi to  Carly. We sat down, and then I introduced myself. Everybody at the table was nice. They all play basketball, some play soccer, and some are on the local swim team. I told them I play basketball, swim, and play tennis. This was my kind of crowd, there was even one guy who was an artist! The 2 girls names were Alexandra (Alex), and Lily. The 3 guys names were Jake, Nate, and Adam. Nate was the artist. We made plans for the whole group to go to  a painting class on friday night! I was so excited! I already made friends, and I have plans to go out only during my first day of school! When lunch was over I had 2 more classes, which happened to be the same classes as Carly, Jake, and Alex.

A couple hours later school was done and my mom picked me up.
