"Andi Gathers?"I was at my desk in my office, hovering over paperwork for the bank when sound of my name peeled my attention up to the feminine voice. A woman with natural glowing hazelnut complexion and low straight ponytail. She was gorgeous in her pantsuit and heels.
I didn't know her, but she obviously knew me. I hoped this wasn't a family member of Jarvis's wife coming disrupt me at my workplace.
"Yes, that's me." I confirmed, "Can I help you?"
"Yes, I'm Normandi." She introduced coming further into my office. She must've sense my confusion since went into deeper detail. "From Gordon Bank's branch in New York. Normandi Gordon."
"Oh yes yes!" I remembered my boss mentioning it to me last week. I raised up from my chair and offered a firm handshake. "I'm sorry. This place has my mind everywhere."
The new employee smiled revealing a small gap between her straight teeth. "I understand."
Her last name registered in my mind. "Gordon? As in..."
"Winston and Caroline Gordon, yeah. I'm...the daughter."
My brow lifted. Does someone have me on Punk'd? The owner of one of the largest bank's in America has a daughter that I have to train for the position under me.
If this isn't a great amount of pressure, I don't know what is.
"I know you don't know how to take me with me being the bosses daughter but I'm not here as some spy. Quite frankly I believe that's how everyone will feel." She chuckled shortly, "But I'm just here to do my job."
I could detect in her eyes she meant every word. She probably dealt with coworkers walking on eggshells around her at the New York branch.
"Of course. I can start off showing you around the place, to your office, then we'll dive face first into the paperwork. Cool?"
"Absolutely."
"Great. Let's do it."
After I helped Normandi become acquainted to the new workplace, I dived right back into work and before I knew it my shift was over. I was tired and the heels were aching my feet. I wanted to throw them across the parking lot, but that would be fairly unethical.
