Chapter 15: Man Eaters

The two mouths lunged at the group. Zach slashed one, but it picked it up in his mouth. He was stuck there!

Bell ran up and shot an arrow, cutting the Man Eater's vine in half, and killing it.

"Thanks, Bell!" Zach said.

"No problem."

They noticed Mike was in a bit of trouble, so they helped him out.

They had two vines. Unfortunately, there were four more behind them, and three grabbed them. They couldn't do much. 

"Wait, I have an idea. Everyone, pull up your shield!" Zach said.

Bell and Mike pulled up their shield.

Zach threw a piece of dynamite in the air. He pulled up his shield. The four Man Eaters bent down to inspect the dynamite. 

"Brace for impact!"

A loud explosion rang out in the cave, and the Man Eaters were dead. The group picked up the vines. They thought they should leave in case that happened again.

"Hey! Hey, Guide! Hey!" Mike yelled as he ran into the house.

"What is it?"

"We got some materials from the Jungle. We got stingers, these plants, and vines." Zach said, while holding out the materials they got. 

"Hmm, yes. I think you can make some stuff with that. Give me that."

The Guide went over to the workbench and anvil and got to work. He made three sets of Jungle armor, a Blade of Grass, and a Thorn Chakram. 

"I believe Mike will particularly like this armor. It increases your mana and magic power when worn. Also, that weird circle thing I gave Bell is a Thorn Chakram. If you throw it, it'll come back after a bit, you can throw out multiple at once, and it can poison enemies! Finally, Zach's Blade of Grass. It can also poison enemies." The Guide told them.

"So, what's next?" 

"I would say it's time for you to fight the Eater of Worlds. It's a large worm that dwells in the corruption. It is summoned by breaking three shadow orbs found in the underground corruption."

"Wait, we were in there, but we didn't see any shadow orbs."

"Well, they in little pockets that need to be dug to to be seen or smashed. And, with your current gear, only bombs or dynamite can break the stone around them.

...

Please tell me you have bombs."

And with that, the group set off toward the corruption, and jumped down into the cave that they had gone in once before. 

"Alright, so do we just throw down bombs in random spots?" 

"Seems like it."

Zach noticed what looked like an indent in the ground, and he threw some dynamite on it. Soon, it exploded, revealing a purple orb. He threw a smaller bomb and exploded it. 

"A horrible chill goes down your spine..."

"Did you feel that?"

Zach looked in the hole and noticed a gun of some sort. He picked it up. A musket, and it came with 100 bullets. 

"Hey, Bell!"

"Yeah?" Bell said.

"I got you a present."

Zach put the Musket and it's bullets in her hands.

"Wow, thanks!"

Zach found another indent, and bombed it too. Another shadow orb. He broke it with yet another bomb, it dropped what looked like a purple mace.

"Screams echo around you..."

Just then, screams of all voices and volumes erupted out into the cave.

"Should we really be doing this?"

He picked up the mace and put it away. He found another indent, and bombed it. The last shadow orb broke, and in it's place was a Vilethorn. He tossed it to Mike with no explanation, as a loud roar echoed through the cave. He instantly jumped out of the indent and looked around. Then he saw it charging at him. The Eater of Worlds.
