"Come on, Connor! Come on, Connor, you can do it!"
Ember was cheering for one of her best friends, Connor. She became close to him when they were partnered up for a mission in Cuba, along with Bryn and Sam. 30 seconds left in the game. Could Connor score, and break the tie that has been going on for an hour with Bayern-München? Twenty seconds. He was midway up the field. Passed two out of three defenders. Now all he has to do is undermine Karl Benz, the best defender in the league. It really didn't help that he was six-foot-three, a lot taller than Connor. But Ember knew he was good. Actually he was more than good-amazing even! With his size, he has better agility and speed than most of the team, which is why they put him as main forward. As Karl slammed into Connor(during this point all his groupies gasped and had tears in their eyes), he popped back up, shot, and scored while Karl was on the ground. There was dead silence in the stadium, then Ember screamed,
"YOU DID IT, CONNOR!!"
The crowd erupted into whistles, cheers, and giggles from all the fangirls who had crushes on him. Ember rolled her eyes at all the signs, posters, roses, and other gifts to shower on Connor, but then shook away the thought and rushed down the stairs, hiking up her dress, as to not trip. As she reached the last step, she ran out onto the field and unintentionally threw herself into her best friend's arms. Ember smiled up at him.
"You did it Connor, I knew you could!"
Connor ran his fingers through his hair, a bit embarrassed, before he hugged her tighter. They were both content, until they realized where they were. They quickly pulled away from each other to see thousands of gaping faces. Ember's face grew as red as her scarlet-colored hair, and Connor looked down at his cleats, trying to hide all emotion. The whole thing was broadcasted to millions worldwide, the story had already been sent to news companies worldwide, and worst of all-they were on the Jumbotron. How could she have been so foolish?! She didn't want to ruin her friendship with him, but she also couldn't contain her growing feelings for him. Her thoughts were interrupted by an uncontrolled sob from a fangirl in the sea of the Connor fan-club.
"HE DOESN'T LIKE ME!!!"
Then all the fangirls started bawling, and eventually everyone exited the stadium, buzzing excitedly-not about the game-but what happened between Connor Badeau and his so-called "only my friend", Ember Martini.
