Nathan James Sykes.

That was the name that would stick with me forever without me even knowing it. My name is Brook, I'm 19, I live a normal life, go to my job, go home, basic routine stuff.

My friend Lexi had invited me to her New Years Eve party, we were going to get drunk, have fun and celebrate this coming year.

1/1/13. The day that began all the havic in my life.

I had been dancing with Lexi, a bit to many drinks already down. I was fuzzy and not quite sure what was going on, but it didn't matter, 2012 was a drag, I was dancing it all away.

Lexi had invited other friends, some names that weren't familiar to me, she had started getting to the boys who were coming when I dozed off.

I was dancing like I hadn't danced before when a set of strong hands pulled me away and up against his body. I was to drunk to really care. I just danced with him.

He would occasionally bring his lips to my neck, but I wasn't looking for a boy in my life this year. After the dance, I didn't look back, didn't learn his name or his face. I just walked over to Lexi and everything kind of went black from there.

It wasn't until a couple weeks into the new year I got a text message from Lexi. A boy had remembered my face and kept asking her about me, she had decided to give him my Facebook and phone number, said I should get on Facebook and add him.

I walked to my laptop and logged on, waiting for the screen to start up.

When I had logged onto Facebook Lexi was correct, 1 new friend request. I eagerly clicked on it

Nathan James Sykes.

That's when it started.

I had gotten a message from him, "Hey Brook, I don't know if you remember me but I'm the guy from Lexi's New Years party. Do you think we can meet up at that coffee shop and talk when we are both sober? Xx"

I didn't know then what I was getting myself into. Yet I didn't quite care, I knew Nathan from his band The Wanted, nothing more about that though.

"Yea, that sounds fine, I can be there in about 30 minutes? Sound good?"

I pressed the send button and it didn't take long to get a 'Seen At..' Followed by the 'Nathan is typing...'

"Sounds good love, I'll see you then xx"

I didn't respond, mainly because I needed to get ready, but because I didn't know him, and I just didn't really want to reply.

I had gone upstairs and thrown on a simple outfit, I'm not trying to impress him or anything. I put my hair into a messy bun and applied mascara and lip gloss. All I really would need.

I was expected to be there in 15 minutes, it was right down the street from me, so I threw on my 'Uggs' and stepped outside. I turned around and locked the door to my flat, making sure I had everything, I started my way down to the coffee shop that was a couple blocks down on the corner of Florae and Ranging St.

I arrived in the shop, the smell of coffee, newly baked goods, and other coffee house smells tickled my nose. I walked up to Jakob, the server at the cashier.

"Let me guess Brook, the usual?" I have him a sly smirk and smiled "How did you guess Jakob?" I giggled, Jakob was one of my friends from High School and wasn't to bad looking, "I'll just be in the back, could you bring it over?" I gave him my puppy dog eyes and he, as always, gave into the peer pressure "Ok, only because you asked nicely." "Thanks Jakob." I gave him a thumbs up and walked causally to the back.
