Chapter 1

I feel different.I feel weird . is it because I had no friends left or because of the death of my mom ?. you all wondering right now what happened. Hey my name is melanie a 18 y.o girl i live in Chicago with my toxic dad and my dog Alex . I was the happy lovely and the unique girl before. I loved hanging out with my friends eating ice cream with my mom at the park and playing basketball with Noah (my neighboor) . i loved doing all of these things. everyone at school called me "Melanie the lucky girl" because I had no siblings and everything in my life seemed perfect . They didn't know that this perfect life will be destroyed in one day . It was my birthday the best day of the year as they said; I was on my way back home when my mom called me she was the first one wishing me a happy birthday as always. The last thing i told her was "I love you" before that I heard her screaming . She had a car accident while she was talking to me . I heard her asking for help but I couldn't do anything for her . At that moment ; I saw all the beautiful memories that I had with my mom : her beautiful smile ; her long blonde hair and her blue ocean eyes . She was absolutely an angel . I never thought that one day I would lose her forever. I was running to the hospital until the doctor told me she is dead. My heart stopped at that moment and I felt like I didn't exist at all . My alcoholic dad didn't care . She was brave I never saw her crying or being sad . A smile was her only makeup. I couldn't ask her once if something's wrong . At least ;she loved me because no one did . After a week of her death , I came back to school and the only things that I heard were "OMG SHE LOSED HER MOM ,OH ITS HARD". No one can feel the same.All the eyes were at me. They acted like I even matter.And the "lucky girl" is now just a nickname that can never come back.
