Chapter 9

Reki isn't stupid.

We know that by now right?

We know he didn't come into this without a few tricks up his sleeve right?

A horn sounds as Reki puts his foot back; readying himself to kick off.

A second one goes off as Adam does the same.

"Please don't do this Reki," Langa says looking at the cameras.

Then the third.

They're off immediately, Reki gets a short bit ahead, smiling from ear to ear. Not an average Reki smile though, a new Reki type.

Adam seems...

Out of it.

Like he's just partially in the beef, it angers Reki to no end.

He knows he should save this for when it counts but it'd be so much easier to get him out now and do the course on his own.

He ignores the first thought and goes with the latter.

When he was set on beating Shadow he learned his tactics, specifically the little bombs he had.

Learned what he used to make them, and tinkered a bit with making them better. Making the bombs themselves smaller but the aftermath bigger. The noise louder, the smoke thicker, the explosions however he couldn't get just right.

Balancing school, lack of friends and bomb making is a very tedious task.

He tosses a couple on the ground fast enough to where Adam shouldn't notice.

He's got him. Adam is barely paying attention and he was careful with throwing them.

That is until the first one pops too early and Adam ollies over the explosion.

Now he just looks cool while jumping over the explosions, the smoke moving with him.

Reki is even more ticked off now, the whole world can see it as he kicks himself forewords.

He's still in front of Adam and the audience is slowly returning hope in Reki. The bombs were a cool thought.

Rekis personal audience however, Langa, Miya, Joe, Cherry, are losing hope in their Reki by the minute.

Cherry taps on the arm of his wheelchair with anticipation and if people could see under his mask they'd see him grinning ear to ear.

Cherry doesn't want revenge, that's petty and childish and he's better than that.

But if Reki were to be petty and childish and get revenge for him. He would not complain.

"Okay so that didn't work." Reki thinks to himself, "there's not much else I can do." He kicks himself for not coming up with a plan b.

That is until he just barely looks back at Adam, completely zoned out.

"Not like I have anything to lose."

Reki clears his head and closes his eyes.

It's just for a minute.
