The next day Claire got the news that her mom had lymphoma cancer and also had this celiac disease. That means you can't have gluten products, because the announcement was made once they were seated with Claire. About three minutes later Claire and her aunt pulled up, they walked in the door and Maria jumped out of her seat.
"Claire, my mom said she had an announcement once we sat down at the table."
"Who is that?" Claire said blushing.
Quickly, Maria said without realizing that she is blushing, "Oh yeah I forgot you haven't met my twin brother Xander yet, but my mom has an announcement and I can't wait!"
The girls were so anxious to know what the announcement was about. But they didn't know it would become a mixture of emotions.
Once they were seated Ella said,
"Girls this may be a mix of emotions but, Claire, since your dad sadly died and your mom is really sick, your aunt and I decided that it would probably be best if I adopted you. Maria wouldn't stop begging me to because we had extra space and it was getting hard for your aunt to support you. Your room would be right next to Maria's and we could go shopping for everything tomorrow, does all that sound good with you?"
"Yes, thank you so much Miss Rae." Claire said in happy tears.
"No need to thank me. Just one thing though."
"What? What is it?" Claire asked anxiously.
"Call me mom." Ella said happily.
