It was Summer on the Island of Sodor, all the engines were getting ready for the Summer holidays. Thomas was just returning from his branch line, but as he rounded a bend, he gasped!

(Gasp)

The bright, blue sky was suddenly black, smoggy smoke rolled from the tracks; that can only mean one thing: where there's smoke, there...

"Fire."

An old farm shed had caught on fire! Thomas could see Percy and Sir Topham Hatt.

"Thomas! Thank goodness you're here!" Sir Topham Hatt replied. "We need more water to fight the fire, Percy is doing his best, but he's running low!"

"Right away, Sir!"

Thomas' water tanks were hitched up, and helped Percy fight the fire. The engines and their crews were doing their best, but they were all running low on water!

"What can we do, Thomas?!" Percy cried.

"We're doing our best, Percy."

Suddenly, a big blue engine puffed in. She was a blue and red LMS Fairburn 4mt and had peculiar nozzles on the sides of her boiler, and she was outfitted with extra tanks with a hose leading to them. She was an engine who just arrived on the Island.

"I can help, Sir!"

Sir Topham Hatt beamed.

"We're glad you're here, Belle. We need your help!"

Using her water nozzles, Belle sprayed water onto the burning combine. In no time, the fire was contained, but the farm shed was ruined.

"Well done, Thomas, Percy and Belle. You have stopped the thresher fire." Sir Topham Hatt boomed proudly.

Later, at the washdown, Belle was explaining to Thomas and Percy why she was brought to the island.

"I was bought by Sir Topham Hatt as a fire engine earlier this summer. He had me outfitted with water cannons and gave me my own water tender to fight fires around the island. It's been rather hot and there have been a lot of fires around the island." She told the engines.

Thomas and Percy were amaze, as they had never seen an engine like Belle before.

"There should be more fire engines on Sodor. This summer has been very hot and dry. There's been a lot of fires around the island." Thomas suggested. This gave Belle an idea. Just then, Sir Topham Hatt then arrived.

"Good day, sir. Are there any more fires to put out?" Belle quizzed.

"Not at the moment, Belle. Thomas, I would like you to show Belle around the island in order for her to know where to go in case of another fire." Sir Topham Hatt said.

"Sir, there have been a lot of fires on the island and I may not be able to fight them all by myself." Belle said.

"Indeed, Belle. Earlier this summer, I made a down-payment on another fire engine. His name is Flynn, and he will be arriving sometime next week." Sir Topham Hatt replied.

"What about me, Sir? Do you have anything special for me to do?" Percy asked. He was hoping to be able to spend some more time with Thomas and Belle, but Sir Topham Hatt replied,

"Mavis is ready with another shipment of stone for you to take to the docks." Percy was disappointed, then Sir Topham Hatt left.
