Chapter 47: Envy

Luna's Pov

I ring the bell of Cole's house, and a lady with dirty blonde hair opens the door. I think she is Cole's Mom. "Hello, Mrs. Davis".

"I am not Mrs. Davis anymore", she says and looks at Cole's Dad.

"Luna", Cole looks at me in surprise.

"I have brought brownies", I show him brownies.

" Luna why are you standing there, please come in", Mr. Davis says, and I come inside, and I see there is a red-headed guest in Cole's house.

Cole's Mom looks at me from up to bottom, as if I am some kind of creature from another planet.

"Mom, this is Luna, my girlfriend", Cole introduces me to his mother.

"And Luna this is my Mom, I think you know that her name is Anna", he tells me nervously.

Why he is nervous? I should be the nervous one, not him. He is damn weird.

"So this is your girlfriend", Cole's Mom says with a judgmental tone.

"Yeah, she is the one", Sarah says sarcastically.

"Co, you haven't introduced me to your girlfriend", says the redheaded girl. Who is she, By the way?. She is not giving me any good vibes.

"Char this is my girlfriend Luna, and Luna this Charlotte my childhood friend ", Cole introduces us to each other.

Co? Char? What is this stupidity? I have already started to not like her.

"Hi", I say, faking my best smile.

"Hi, Cole didn't tell me about you", she says and looks at Cole.

"Cole, also never mentioned you", I also look at him.

"I think I did mention Char to you once, remember when we were in the hospital, to put your cast", he tells me. And I look at him in disbelief. What is wrong with him? Why did he insult me in front of this redhead? And I do remember her now, she is his childhood best friend, they both also had yellow as their favorite color.

"And Char we haven't been in contact, since you moved to New York, so how would I have told you about Luna", he adds. Thank God, they have not been in contact.

"Yeah you are right", she says and smiles at me," By the way Luna your hair is gorgeous, I wish my hair was also blonde, you remember Cole, when we were kids I always wanted hair like Barbie",

"I wish I could say I like your hair, but I can't, I don't like ginger hair and also your hair has split ends", I say with a smirk.

" Luna", Cole looks at me in surprise.

"What?, I am sorry, if you felt bad about that Charlotte, I was just telling the truth, I mean now you can do hair treatment, for your spilt ends", I say sweetly, trying my best to hide the burning fire inside me.

Wait a minute. Why I am feeling this way? Why I am feeling jealous of Charlotte. Why it's bothering me that Cole is so close to her? I mean, I don't have any right on Cole, he is not my real boyfriend.

Cole's Pov

Luna went home after some time, and during all that time she was mean to Char. I don't know what was wrong with her today?. She was behaving so differently.

"So this is your girlfriend Cole, she is well I don't have words to describe your girlfriend", Mom says with disappointment and goes to her room.

"Well you also didn't like Luna, right?", I ask Char.

"She is beautiful, but she is mean", she tells me with a smile.

"Yeah I know she is mean, but she is also nice, I don't know why she was being so much mean to you, I am sorry on behalf of Luna",

"No, it's okay, you don't need to apologize, she must be going through something",

"Yeah maybe, I will talk to her about that, her Mom recently got married, so maybe she has started to feel lonely again, she always acts mean to hide pain", I hope Luna is okay. I have to talk to her.

"Cole it's getting late, so I will go now, so see you on some other day", she says, and after saying bye she goes.

"You really don't know why Luna was so mean to Charlotte?", Sarah comes to me and asks.

"No",

"You, my brother, you are really stupid",

"What?",

"Yeah! Can't you see Luna is jealous of Charlotte", she tells me.

"Wait! What? No! Luna is jealous of Charlotte? Why?",

"Because maybe deep down somewhere she has feelings for you", Sarah tells me while using the words carefully.

"No", no matter how much I want Luna to have feelings for me, I know that this will never happen.

"Well, it looked like that she has feelings for you",

Can this miracle happen? Can Luna Brown have feelings for me? If this happens, this will be the best thing that would happen to me.
