The kids sat at the docks where they usually were placed, Leon and Eren sat atop the wall overlooking the steps where Armin sat on the second step and Mikasa on the third.
Armin: They just heard me rattling on about how man kinds future lies beyond the walls, doubt the understood half of it though.
Leon: (throwing a rock in the river) idiots.
Eren: Why's it gotta be this way? Why can't people just let us dream?
Armin: The walls are a powerful idea, we survived for over 100 years because of them. No one's keen on tempting fate, I may not agree with that sentiment but, I can see where they're coming from, it's human nature. When all said and done the governments policies are a reflection of our fear.
Eren: Yeah, the rest of the hurds, maybe.
Leon: I say to hell with them!
Mikasa: Someone's gonna hear you.
All three kids turned to see their black haired friend.
Mikasa: Keep it down.
Eren: What do I care? You'll rat me out either way.
Leon: Eren, c'mon.
Mikasa: I never promised you anything.
Armin: Your folks know about the scouts?
Eren: Basically.
Leon: They're not too pleased to say the least.
Armin: *sigh* yeah, big shock. It's sad what most people here are willing to settle for in exchange for the most fleeting feeling of security, you know? And make no mistake, it absolutely is fleeting, the walls can't hold forever, only a matter of time.
There were a few seconds of silence falling upon the four children when suddenly there was a bright yellow lightning-like strike that hit right outside the outer Shiganshina gate. The floor rumbled and made the four kids that were sat down fly up from the ground, the rumbling stopped and everyone got up.
Leon: What was that?
Eren: I don't know.
Leon turned around to look at the citizens of Shiganshina who were staring up at the top of the wall.
Person 1: What is that?
Person 2: Let's have a look.
Leon ran over to the street where the people were stood looking up as his friends ran after him.
Eren: Leon, what are you doing?
Leon stood between many people staring at the same thing they were as his friends arrived behind him.
Eren: Talk to me, some kind of explosion or-
Eren was cut off by the sight of a big hand holding on to the top of the wall, it was skinless, just muscles.
Armin: Woah, that's impossible, that wall is fifty meters high!
The hand gripped the wall tighter and a head appeared from above the wall, the shadow of its head growing over the houses.
Eren: Oh god, it's a titan!
Clouds of steem emited from the skinless titan as it looked over the walls down at the many humans it was about to kill. The titan leaned forward and lifted its leg aiming to kick a whole in the wall, it then leaned back, kicking its foot as hard as it could into the outer gate of Shiganshina district. Boulders flew up into the sky landing on houses and people. The titans head lowered eventually disappearing behind the wall which was now breached, leaving an opening for the titans that humanity was so afraid of for so long to come inside.
