I stood there, by the street, opened to the sounds of sirens. Tears falling down my cheeks while red and blue lights flashed in front of my eyes. Cop cars and ambulances pulled up to the sidewalk and took him away. Took my love away, on a hospital bed. Took my life, took my motivation. Yet I couldn't do anything to help. I felt so bad, standing there as he were put into the back of the ambulance truck. Tears fell down every second of it. I watched as they pulled off, as they disappeared, as he disappeared, and how people passed by me, and stared. Yet all I thought about, was if he was okay.
December third, 2017,
I stopped by every store trying to find some shelter from the rain, it was only drizzling, yet it hit harder each drop. "We're closed," they all said, and I went to find another store. I finally rested under some shelter at a gas station. I sat on the low, wet curb, head low, but full of relief. I looked over at the street, lit with lights, and the cars drove passed, all seemed so fast. The rain became harder and harder, until really all you could see was the blurry street lights and the headlights of cars driving passed. The sky was dark and the sound of the rain and cars filled the moist air. "Hello," I looked up. There he was. The love of my life, although I didn't know it yet. "You seem cold," he says, and he smiled while handing me over his sweater. I looked at it for a bit before taking it out of his hands. "Thank you," I said as I slipped the warm sweater over my head and my arms through the sleeves. He sat down beside me, on the wet curb. We looked at each other for a while. He smiled at me, and I smiled back. We laughed at each other and made jokes until the rained stopped. The bus pulled up to the sidewalk, and it was my time to go. We both stood up and waved each other goodbye. I was about to walk up the stairs into the bus, but I looked back at him, he was still there. "Give me a second," I told the bus driver. I ran back to him and put my arms around him, tightly, "What's your name?" I asked him, "Walter," he told me. Walter. "Jessie," I said. It started to drizzle again. "I have to go," I told him. "That's fine," he said, and he smiled. I dropped my arms beside me and shifted away, my body heading back to the bus, but my eyes still fixated on his. Finally, I walked up the stairs and dropped in my coins. "Thank you," I told the bus driver, and I made my way to the back of the bus, where I sat down and looked out the window. He was still there, looking back at me, and he was still smiling, I smiled back at him. The rain became harder as the bus started the move, yet he was still there, looking back at me. I pulled off, and his eyes changed
all directions, still fixated on me, and mine fixated on his. But long after, though, he turned away and disappeared within the fog. Walter, I reminded myself. Walter.Thank you so much for reading my story! There are many more parts to this so stay toon for more.
