DEAR Naruto.
It must've been hard, right? Being alone. I get it. I had a mom, but she died when I was just a kid. I mean, I still am, but I grew up cause of it, you know? Anyway, I was able to form a contract with a fox summon, so you'll be seeing little red foxes on your desk once in a while. Naruto, do you know the history of our clan? I know you want to be hokage of Konoha gakure, so I thought that I should tell you a brief summary. The Uzumaki Clan was a prominent clan in the village they founded, Uzushiogakure. However, because of their huge prowess and skill in fuinjutsu and chakra control, their village was destroyed by all of the other villages.
Naruto, you can think however you'd like. But I, as one of the only remaining members of the Uzumaki Clan, refuse to forgive the other villages. Because of them, me and my fellow can members experienced pain, discrimination, and loneliness of indescribable measure. So did you, didn't you?
I'm going to revive the village of Uzushio, and I'm going to be the second Uzukage. I hope you won't stand in my way, Naruto, since we are family. There shouldn't be any reason for you to be against my plans, considering the fact that I'm not doing anything wrong. Of course, although I don't plan on destroying the other villages, I'll make sure Uzushio will be both feared and respected, so that they won't dare try to land a hand on my beautiful village.
It was good to see you, Uzumaki Naruto. I hope that you'll continue to reply to my letters knowing that I am always your ally, and your family.
Writing with pride, Uzumaki Karin.
P.S. I didn't tell you, but there are a couple more members of the Uzumaki Clan in hiding.
P.P.S. I know who they are, so you don't have to worry about finding them. I will.
P.P.P.S. However, just in case, I'll tell you two of their names. One of them is Honoka, and she is a talented kunoichi in the field of sealing. Lots of potential. The other is Sasori of the red sand. You'll meet him in a couple of years. I'm thinking of recruiting both.
Naruto re folded the letter with mixed feelings, gazing at the arena around him with a new sense of pride. Perhaps this was what Sasuke felt every day, knowing that he was part of a powerful and strong clan.
He was unnerved by what Karin had revealed, of course, and he whole heartedly agreed on her plan of reviving the Uzushio village. However...he also felt uneasy, as if something bad was going to happen. Karin had said she couldn't forgive the other villages. What did that mean? She wrote that she wouldn't destruct, but that didn't mean she wouldn't hurt anybody.
He scratched his head, and shrugged. Well, he had a new family member now. Someone he could rely on, someone he could write to. That was definitely something to brag to Sasuke and Kakashi about. Not to mention the "other members" she had mentioned. He was excited to meet them, for sure.
"WELCOME TO THE THIRD AND FINAL STAGE." A ninja suddenly announced, interrupting Naruto's thoughts. He ignored the questioning gaze of Sakura and Sasuke, and turned to focus on the rules. Karin's red hair stood out amongst the genin as they lined up on the sandy arena ground, surrounded by thousands of onlookers watching from above.
