Fix me (Snape x reader fanfiction)

First meeting with Snape - Chapter 2

Your POV: I went back to my dorm, so excited to meet with Snape in his office. We decided to meet at 8pm and I only had a few hours to decide what I was going to wear. I probably checked my whole wardrobe a 100 times. Lastly, I decided to wear my robes, I didn't want Snape to think I was trying to show off my body  or WORSE, he could think I was trying to, well, seduce him or something. So I put on my robes and I went to Snape's office. I left  half an hour early because I wanted to walk around the castle for a moment, before I went to the meeting. As I was walking around the corridors, admiring how beautiful Hogwarts was, I bumped into Draco. He was picking on some 4th years, but as soon as I bumped into him, he stopped. He became all nice to them, which was kind of weird. We talked for a bit, and he asked where I was going. I told him that I was going to Snape's office to go over some things. Draco was visibly confused, because we all knew Snape doesn't really enjoy socializing. During our small talk with Draco, I noticed he was being very flirtatious towards me. I didn't think much of it, only because my thoughts were elsewhere and I had been suspecting that Draco liked me, so that wasn't really new to me. Draco noticed I was not present in the conversation, so he greeted me, and went to his common room. 

It was 7.55pm, and I started walking towards Snape's office. I wanted to be early, and give a good impression, I really wished that Snape sees how responsible I am. The door to his office was shut, and I was so nervous to knock even if we were supposed to meet. But then I decided to pull myself together and I knocked on the door. The door opened as soon as I stopped knocking. It was almost like Snape was waiting at the door for me to knock. I guess that was kind of strange, but maybe it was just me. 

So, Snape opened the door and said: "Good evening, I've been waiting for you. I knew you'd be on time. Come on in." 

I stepped into the office and I was starstruck. The smell was amazing, the bottles with potion ingredients were so organized, everything was clean and tidy. It was perfect. I think Snape noticed how amazed I was too. I always thought he was a perfectionist, but this was on a whole another level. 

"So, Miss y/n, I see you're quite amazed by my office. Well, shall we get started then? Do you have  any specific questions you want to discuss?" Snape said. 

"Uhm, yes, as a matter of fact, I do. I want to know how the classes are going to be like. What is my job as your assistant?" I asked. 

"Well, I am going to prepare the lecture for all of the classes, then, you'll meet me at my office to discuss them. Your job is to assist me when we're brewing potions, take care for peace in class, help students if they need anything and give them homework. Oh, and also, I allow you to take or give points to students for their good work or bad behaviour. That's pretty much it about the lessons. We'll talk about your Head girl duties another time. I want to know more about you. So, tell me, what is your family like, what are your goals in life, why do you want to become a potions master and teach at Hogwarts?" asked Snape. 

"Alright, I'll do my assistant duties. Uhm, life is... ok, I guess. My family... I'd rather not talk about that, and my goals in life... well, I have a couple. I want to start a family, and be a good mum, I want to grow as a person and learn how to open myself up to people. As of the teaching subject, I want to become a teacher, because I like helping people and I like to teach, since I talk so (too) much. What about you professor? Do you have a dream that you want to accomplish? Why did you become a teacher?" I replied. 

"Miss y/n, I don't really think you have a problem with opening up to people. That'd be my issue before yours. I admire your wish to teach and help people. And, I indeed have a dream, a wish that I want to accomplish, be true, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. And please call me Severus, will you? At least when we're alone in the office, discussing stuff. " Snape said. 

"Er- okay, I'll stop calling you professor if that's what you wish. And may I ask why do you think the wish is not going to become true anytime soon?" I asked. 

"I'd rather not discuss this tonight. Perhaps some other time." he said.

"Oh ok, no problem. Well you didn't answer my other question... Why did you become a teacher?" 

"Do you want to know the truth?" he asked. I nodded.

"Well, I became a teacher at Hogwarts because Dumbledore wanted me to. After the Potters... Er- after Harry's parents died, he wanted me to be close to Harry in order to protect him. That's basically it." 

"But why you, you out of all the people Dumbledore could've asked?" I asked. 

"Er- well let's just say I owed it to Harry's father. He... He saved me once. Purely because he was scared for his own safety and he was saving himself out off trouble too. But if he didn't save me, I wouldn't be here today." Snape said, with a difficulty. 

I was feeling quite sad for him and just wanted to comfort him. But I didn't know how. I knew he was not a hugger, or a touchy person as he was always cold to everyone. So I just decided it's best to change the subject, but before I could say anything, Snape started talking again. 

"Well, enough with the deppressive conversation. We should start preparing for the first lesson. We're going to be brewing Amortentia in class tomorrow, and as you probably know, it isn't the easiest to brew, so I'd like to brew it with you, tonight, now." 

SHIT. SHIT SHIT SHIT. Not Amortentia... how am I suppossed to lie what do I smell. I'm screwed! My mind was full of that kind of thoughts. Snape seemed to see that I was panicking a little bit, and I swear he smirked and said: "There's no need to be panicking y/n, if you do something wrong, I'll help you."

"Thanks Severus. SO, shall we get started then?" I replied, still panicking inside. 

"Sure."
