Year 2039
It was raining outside. She absolutely loved rain. As she sat in her seat near the window, she leaned her head against it, watching the raindrops hit glass of the window. She was busy observing the race between the two raindrops, silently cheering for the one on left to outrun the other drop. She smiled in satisfaction when the one on left reached the base of the window first.
And since it was raining, a lot of people who were unprepared for the sudden downpour outside were running while trying to save themselves from getting wet in the rain. Some had their bags to cover their head, some used their overcoats. Some just took shelter nearby.
She sat back in her chair, sipping on her coffee, grimacing at it's sweetness. She turned around slightly when she heard a familiar voice.
" You still dislike your coffee if it's sweet? "
She nodded, slightly smiling at the familiar face she spotted. " I always have. "
" I thought you liked it, I mean I remember you drinking it quite often back in the day. " The man said while taking the seat opposite of hers.
She chuckled lightly.
" I never liked sweet coffee, I drank it cause I liked the person who liked coffee like that. "
He nodded knowingly, with a smile of his own.
They sat in a comfortable silence, watching the rain and occasional people running here and there.
"It's time, sir. " One of the staff came and informed. He nodded in acknowledgement.
" Let's go shall we? " He asked the lady sitting in front of him.
She placed her cup down and got up. Looking back at the rain one last time.
As she walked towards the set of fancy armchairs at the back of the library/ cafe she slightly bowed her head to everyone as a greeting.
She sat in of the armchairs. The lights that were placed strategically shone brightly but not enough to give a headache. People with all sorts of communication devices, tablets and papers were standing nearby.
The man from earlier sat in the opposite chair, straightening his suit jacket. He was going through the placards in his hands when he looked up to meet her eyes.
" It's been a while since I've introduced myself like this, I'm nervous. " The woman admitted as two women touched up her makeup.
" Woah!! I never thought I'd see the mighty you getting nervous in front of a camera. Or are you nervous cause of my good looks?" He joked, slightly wiggling his eyebrows, earning him a scoff from the woman.
"But don't worry, it's completely normal to feel a bit nervous it's been a while after all. Though I must say you look the same as you did back in the days. " He said with an assuring smile which by the end of his statement turned teasing smile.
"Oh you flatter me Mr. Lee, but I must say that you've changed a lot. " She said chuckling while gesturing at his small but protruding beer belly. Her laugh was contagious and soon Lee started laughing too.
" Okay, okay now let's get back to work " Mr. Lee said while clapping his hands twice to bring back the focus on the main topic.
The woman squared her shoulders, straightened her dress, got into the posture she's so used to. Clearing her throat she looked at the lense, smiling a bit. She bowed her head slightly in greeting.
" Hello everyone, I'm Hwa Young of BTS, nice to meet you all once again."
She paused and this time with a smile so beautiful that even moon would envy said, "Army did you miss me a lot ?"
And millions of heart fluttered once again. And millions cried once again. And millions cheered once again.
XOXO
