I apply a quick coat of lip-gloss to my lips as I step onto floor 23; my floor. To think that I manage one of the most well known businesses in New York is beyond me. How I even have the job of my dreams at the age of 24 is even more unusual, but then again I've worked hard to get where I am. I scan the lobby as I begin to pass Janet, the beautiful receptionist that makes me question my existence every time I see her. I've always admired her long brown hair, hazel eyes and petite frame.

"Morning Ava, you have a visitor," Janet snickers, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Janet, please don't tell me it's Ms. Johnson trying to wiggle her way into my company again?" I shudder at the idea of once again encountering the women that was competing with me for my job.

"Not this time, you know she doesn't come around till the end of the month... I can't wait to see your reaction," Janet gives me a smug smile, followed by a wiggle of her brow. Seriously, I hate when she does that, it means something bad is coming.

His devilish grin spreads as he notices my unease. I clear my throat as his eyes scan my body up and down, "What are you doing here?" I ask, venom laces my voice.

"Love, that's no way to greet a guest," His hazel eyes continue to pierce through my brown ones. "Now let's talk business."
