It Started With the Sunrise

Take a Break

"10 more minutes Moblit?? Please? Then I promise I'll take a break." Hanji begged while writing lab reports. Moblit, exhausted, sighed and agreed.

"Fine, 10 more minutes, but if you're not resting by then i'll have to make you, you haven't slept in 2 days! You out of anyone should know how unhealthy that is for you!" Moblit exclaimed.

"Trust me Moblit all I need is 10 minutes."

————4 minutes later————

(Moblit's pov)

'Oh good, she's finally asleep.' I thought to myself as i took her glasses off her head and put them next to the side of her bed. I changed her coffee to decaf. I care about her too much to be letting her stay up like this, it's gotten out of control. I looked at the clock, as the time switched to 5:30 am. I gently put Hanji on her bed, collected my stuff, and headed out the door to my apartment. We weren't far, we both had rooms in the same building, i was on the top floor and she was on the bottom.

I met Hanji at work. I became her lab assistant and since that day we've always been together. Hanji is... interesting, I'll say that, but she's one of the smartest people I know.

After I walked up those stairs to my apartment, i looked out the window and saw the sun was starting to rise. I immediately ran up the last flight of stairs to the rooftop of the apartment building to watch the sunrise.

The sunrise is my favorite part of the day. The orange colors and the birds singing, I always make sure i'm up in time to watch it. It is beautiful, but I've always wanted someone to share the beauty with. It isn't my top priority though, all i'm focused on is my work and keeping Hanji safe.

When the sun was up, I decided to finally go to bed. My sleep schedule aligns with Hanji, so if she doesn't sleep neither do I. I was exhausted, and as soon as I hit my bed, I was out.

————The next morning————

(Hanji's pov)

I woke up around noon, "Finally, my day off!" I said to myself excitingly. I looked around for Moblit, but he was nowhere to be found. I jumped up outta bed and started to make coffee. I brewed two cups, one black and one with cream and sugar for moblit. I ran to his apartment with our coffees and barged in since I have his spare key.

"GOOD MORNING MOBLITTTT~!!" I yelled raising my one hand up with coffee in it. Moblit rushed out into his kitchen and quickly grabbed the coffee out of her hand. "Commander be careful!! This is hot, you could burn yourself!!" Moblit yelled at me.

I laughed and put my cup down "Moblit you worry too much, live a little!!" I told him punching his arm.

He rubbed the spot where I punched, "I would, but it seems like you want to put yourself in danger!!" He exclaimed, chuckling a bit.

"Well Moblit, it's our day off, what should we do?" I asked, taking a sip out of my coffee.

"We could always go to the beach, I mean, it is gonna be 90° out today." Moblit proposed as he blew on his coffee before drinking it.

"MOBLIT YOU GENIUS!! Let's go to the beach!!" I yelled, quickly finishing my coffee and jumping around.

Moblit chuckled a little and nodded, taking the last couple sips out of his coffee.

"Let me go get my stuff, and I'll be right back!" I yelled and he agreed.

"Also Moblit" I said before leaving. He looked at me.

"I know you changed my coffee to decaf" I said and laughed a bit.

A/N: OMG guys it's been so long since i've written a story. The last time i wrote one i was in 6th grade and now i'm a senior lol so it just shows how much time has passed. I'm happy to be getting into it though, and i'm looking forward to writing this book!!
