im so sad and angry and frustrated at the entire world. im so sick of trans kids dying or trying to die goddamn.
there have been at least four trans kids all under the ages of 20 who have killed themselves over the transphobia theyve been facing that got major-ish to very major media coverage since late december 2014 - and those are just the ones that have gotten media coverage. so so so many more have died im sure.
its so so fucked up like leelah was in goddamn conversion therapy {which doesnt only happen to trans kids it happens to all kids of lgbtqia+ kids} which is such a fucked up thing. literally in conversion therapy theyll physically and mentally abuse them and ITS STILL LEGAL SOMEHOW. i linked a video on the side of this that laci green made that explains more about conversion therapy and i urge you to watch it its only like 4 minutes long. also on the side is a poster examiningrocks on tumblr made for transgender awareness week 2014 {you might have to open it in another tab to make it more readable}
even after these kids are fucking dead their parents and others are still misgendering them like your kid is DEAD because of you tbh holy shit. leelah alcorns parents had her tumblr deleted which also had her suicide note on it exposing them and tumblr might still be going around deleting posts of people reposting it. everyone is getting buried with the wrong names and in the wrong clothes and remembered the wrong way.
its also really unnerving that the only time people seem to care about lgbtqia+ kids or just lgbtqia+ people in general is when theyre dead or it makes them look good in an arguement. leelah alcorn put in her suicide note that she wants to see conversion therapy gone and illegal because it literally kills lgbtqia+ people but when the bell lets talk hashtag was going around and i or someone else would tell people that a lot of those donations go to a place that supports conversion therapy and some of it goes towards their conversion therapy program theyd be like "oohhh i dont know if thats true. i sure hope its not!" but not delete the post. are you really going to place the safety of lives of lgbtqia+ people on your fucking hopes and dreams??? even when im showing you evidence and shit ??? are you really going to put someones life on the line because you think the worlds a better place than it actually is ??
lgbtqia+ people dont need that shit along with the trans and intersex and gay panic laws that are active in at least 49 states in america that tries to protect people who kill trans and intersex and gay people {idk if it works for bi/pan/ace/aro/ect people but i wouldnt be surprised if it did} and is basically like "well someone came out to them as trans/intersex/gay and they didnt know how to react!! so they just panicked and killed them!!" along with getting kicked out of school/evicted from their homes/losing their jobs because theyre lgbtqia+ {edit: though that defense isnt particularly useful in trial usually but like......still......how does that exist smh}
and theres like -193058209 resources for kids who think theyre trans or are trans but dont have supportive parents {especially if theyre non-binary holy fuck} like im still dealing w my gender stuff but i have a better idea off me than i did like 6 months ago and it was so hard to figure out because of the limited resources and the fact that i got n still do get panic attacks over it lmao} and so so so so so so SOO scary and it still is scary
i just wish it would change im tired of not seeing change and im tired of people not helping change the world god
