PREVIOUSLY ON: League of Superheroes

This is the start of Part three for this book, centring around the Avengers and their fight against Loki and unbeknownst to them, even bigger forces set for the future. There's been an introduction of characters like Bruce Banner and Steve Rogers, but at most, we have the start of Loki's grand scheme.

Which started when he mind controlled Clint Barton, Erik Selvig and other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

A jet landed in S.H.I.E.L.D. with both Steve Rogers and Agent Coulson walking out of it. Natasha Romanoff walked up to both men. "Agent Romanoff," Coulson greeted. "Captain Rogers," he introduced.

"Ma'am," Steve said respectfully.

Natasha looked him over and settled for a small smile, "hi." Turning back to Coulson she said, "they need you on the bridge; they're starting the face trace."

Coulson nodded, looking at the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility and then looked at both Steve and Natasha, "see you there." As Coulson left, Natasha and Steve both started to walk in direction of the S.H.I.E.L.D. building.

"It was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice," Natasha started. "Thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?"

"Trading cards?" Steve asked.

Natasha grinned, "they're vintage. He's very proud." They both looked over to find Bruce Banner walking over to them, a little shy in his steps.

"Doctor Banner," Steve greeted, pulling his shoulders back and standing tall.

Banner looked up at Steve and gave a slight nod, "Oh, yeah, hi. They told me you'd be coming."

"Word is you can find the Cube," Steve said.

"Is that the only word on me?" Banner asked.

"Only word I care about."

Banner nodded softly this time, thinking of his response. "Must be strange... for you, all of this."

"Well," Steve tilted his head to the soldiers and agents walking around them and the general buzz of the workplace. "This is actually kind of familiar."

"Gentlemen," Natasha cut in, "you might wanna step inside in a minute. It's gonna get a little hard to breathe," she walked with them into the Helicarrier. The intercom itself relaying a message; Flight mode. Secure the deck. A loud whrring and clunking sound filled the space. Both Banner and Steve walked to the edge of the helicarrier and watched the 'building' descend.

"Is this a submarine?" Steve asked, looking back at Banner.

"Really," Banner whispered. "They want me in a submerged pressurized metal container?" Propellers began to spin and the carrier itself started to lift into the air. Baner took a wobbly step back from the start of the flight and his hand immediately held onto the handlebars on the side. "Oh no, this is much worse."

The helicarrier began to lift itself higher and higher into the air.

As the helicarrier began to ascend higher into the air and fly at a constant speed and general air level, Steve and Banner comfortably followed Natasha into the bridge. Natasha peeled away from both of the men as they looked around the place and stared in obvious awe. The bridge was filled with very busy S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel working at many stations and communicating via earpieces.

"Tech one, maximum performance takeoff, increase output to capacity."

"Bridge tech. Power plant performing at capacity. We are clear."
