she carries you to bed

Arriving this late at night sadly isn't as unusual for Yiren as it was once.

It's nearing two in the morning and she and the girls just got out of the studio. She's feeling the stress from it all starting to catch up to her, so she's excited to crawl into bed with you and let them fade away.

You always manage to make them fade away, no matter how terrible she feels before she steps through the door. Once she homes with you, she's bound to feel much, much better; always.

She made her way inside, quietly taking her shoes off before she padded across the floor. She was trying to be quiet but hurry at the same time.

With what time it is, she thought you were sleeping in bed and she wanted to get to you as fast as she could.

But she froze when she heard a few soft sounds slip from your lips from behind her.

She turned around and turned on the light and her chest filled with butterflies when she noticed that you were curled up on the sofa with her hoodie on, sleeping soundly.

She brushed her fingertips along your arm. You stirred from her comforting touch and, even though she could tell you were sleeping still, she watched a small smile tug at your lips.

Even in your sleep, she still manages to make you smile.

"Baby?" She whispered softly as she kissed your temple. "Wake up."

She continued to brush her hand along your arm and then along your cheek as your eyelashes fluttered against your cheeks.

"Baby? I'm home. Don't you want to go upstairs? We can cuddle. We'll sleep much better there."

You didn't open your eyes. All that fell from your lips was another soft sound as you rolled over and continued to sleep.

Yiren always struggles to sleep without holding onto you and after the day she'd had, she was certain tonight would be one of the nights where sleep just won't happen at all if you're not in her arms.

She couldn't handle a night on the sofa. Not after the long, busy day she had. She wanted to curl up in bed. But she only wanted to curl up in bed if you're there to hold.

She decided if you couldn't walk them, she'd carry you up them.

In her eyes, it was much better and much easier than spending the night alone or sleepless.

She gently turned you over before she lifted you up into her arms. She made her way to the stairs and turned off the light before she started to climb the stairs. She was so tired that she struggled to keep her eyes open, but she wouldn't dare close them, either.

"Yiren?" You mumbled tiredly and she rubbed your back, brushing her nails along your skin ever so gently, hoping you'd continue to sleep like you deserved.

"It's okay. I'm just carrying you to bed. We're almost there, so go ahead and go back to sleep."

You nodded and fell back asleep, feeling comfortable in her embrace with every step that she took.

She reached the top of the steps and walked a little faster down the hall, hoping to get to bed sooner.

She gently laid you down and turned the lamp on to find the blanket. She covered you up, smiling to herself when she noticed how cozy you seemed to be in only her hoodie.

"You look better in my hoodie than me." She chuckled and you slowly opened your tired eyes, shaking your head.

"Definitely not."

"It's true." She said as she kissed your lips, brushing a lock behind your ear when she pulled away. "You're the cutest."

You smiled and took her hand into yours after she tucked you in and climbed into bed with you.

"How was your day?" You asked as you laid your head on her chest.

Before she walked through that door, she would've told you about how stressful it was.

But now, it doesn't even seem to matter. It's forgotten about as she gets to hold you. As she tangles her legs with yours and holds your hand as she kisses your head.

Everything just seems better.

And all it ever takes for everything to get better so quickly is you.

"It's not important at all, trust me." She mumbled. "I'm home with my favorite girl now, that's all that matters. Now go to sleep. I'm right here."

You nodded slowly and started to fall asleep as she kissed the crown of your head a few times.

"Yiren?"

"Yeah, baby?"

"I love you. So much."

She felt a bright smile tug at her lips as the words left yours.

"I love you more." She said and closed her eyes, letting your soft breaths and the contentedness she felt with you in her arms help her drift off to sleep.
