[Early morning in Kuzzan and Lucius' new home]

"Wake up you lazy bums, time for your training!" shouted Verus while slamming two military shields together.

"What the heck are you doing! How did you get in here!" said Kuzzan as he fell on the floor from his bed.

"I'm up, I'm up, p-please don't hurt us!" said Lucius as he hid his head under his pillow.

"Did you forget? I own this place. Of course, I'll have an extra key. I need to visit once in a while to make sure you dolts are not doing anything illegal, or else the King would lock me up. Now come on. Get ready, I'll wait for you outside. Your training is about to start!"

"What the heck is this training? I thought I was just a cutler!"

"Am I i-included in the training s-sir Verus?"

"You both are my cutler, this training will help you with your craftsmanship and yes Lucius you're coming. Now, get up before I slam your heads between these shields!"

"Alright, just stop screaming it's too early for that!"

"Let me j-just fix my bed."

The two young men went outside to see Verus who was carrying two huge bags.

"Bring these to the bar."

"Isn't it a little early to go drinking?"

"W-why the pub sir Ve-?"

"Hey! No questions. Just do as I say!"

The young lads carried the bags on their backs and headed for Quintous Pub.

"This is too heavy, it feels like there's a body inside!" said Kuzzan.

Verus grinned maliciously.

"Is t-there really a body inside these b-bags!" said Lucius as his knees trembled with fear.

"I said, no questions. Now, get moving boys, we have a lot of work to do!"

The three arrived at the bar. Kuzzan and Lucius already looking tired from carrying the bags.

"Inside these bags are the materials and pieces of equipment you need to fix all the damage due to last night's incident," said Verus as he pointed to the areas that needed a fix.

"Are you crazy! Why would we want to do that? If someone has to do it, it should be you. You were the one who trashed this place!" said Kuzzan.

"Hah! You might have forgotten, it was Lucius who directed the bandits here last night, and it was you who forgot to bring food for your friend. Plus, I saved your butts. So quit whining and start moving!" said Verus.

"H-he does have a point Kuzzan."

". . ."

". . ."

"Fine, help me mix the cement, Lucius."

The two lads took their time filling the road with cement and bricks, cleaning up the shattered wood from the broken chariot, fixing the door at the pub while being carefully watched by Verus.

"Lord Verus, we apologize for disturbing you, but General Priscus needs you. Please come with us to the prison. He mentioned it was of high priority," said the guard, a half-beast, with a body of a gazelle, who was catching his breath from running.

"What's all this about? Priscus never let me inside his prison. Ever," Verus uttered to himself.

"Very well, I'll go with you after you answer my question."
