Scout's POV:
Well, today is the very big day. Dad and I are officially moving into our new home. I have to say it looks very nice, especially in a town like Oceanville.
I look around my new surroundings outside as the moving people help set up our stuff inside the house.
"Hey Dad!" I called out to my father, who is currently watching as the men carefully place our furniture inside the house. When I approach him, I gave him a big hug.
"Hey Dad", I asked. "What is it, sweets?" I dragged him by the arm outside the house. "Can I go explore around the neighborhood?" He seemed to get into a little thinking position, before he smile and said "Sure, just don't go too far or else who knows if someone may try to hurt you."
"Don't worry, those martial arts lessons have really payed off for me, so I'm sure I'll be okay."
"Alright, I'm just warning you there, but you've got a chance to meet new people around here. There's even a popular camp all the way across the street. It is preferred that people who go there take the bus though. Just be careful when your gonna be on the road. Okay?"
"Yes dad I'll be fine." "Okay you can head along now." I take this as an opportunity to walk around the neighborhood. But what dad said about a camp made me curious. He said that it was just across the street.
Before I could keep thinking, I spot two boys around my age playing catch with a red ball.
If I was getting curious enough, that same ball landed right into my arms.
"Hey there! You must be our new neighbor!", the orange haired boy said. I nearly flinched at how loud he said that.
"Sorry about him, he's quite the energetic guy around here. I'm Keitaro Nagame, and this is-"
"Hiro! Hiro Akiba!"
"Well, it's nice to meet some friendly faces around here. I'm Scout. Scout Carter Reed. My dad and I just moved here."
"Really? That's cool! We have a new neighbor now. Welcome to Florida, Scout."
"Welcome welcome! I think we're gonna be awesome friends."
"Oh, you guys. So, what do you two like to do for fun?"
"Well, I am pretty interested in photography. That's why I always carry around this camera." He said holding up a green camera. This guy is quite a cinnamon roll. Wait, did I just think that?
"Well, as of now we were playing catch and it seems you have in your hands the very thing that's needed in order to play catch." Oh, Hiro does have a point. I still have their ball with me.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Here you go." I tossed it over to Keitaro, but Hiro didn't seem to like that too much.
"Hey! Why does he get to have the ball?! No fair." He put on a little pouty face.
