Champagne Problems

Ran away

Tears are streaming from my eyes. Hands are shaking. My eyes are blurry with tears.

I cried silently in the bathroom. My hands are covering my mouth so that I wouldn't make a sound. It started out okay, we were happy. I've been with him for 10 years, a decade. We've been through so many ups and downs. We made promises to each other and swore that we will achieve every single one of them. I guess this is the end of it.

I went back to my condo and ran straight to my room. I frantically opened my drawers and stuffed my bags into the bag. As I was packing, a photo album fell. Album full of our memories. "Channel and Sian" was written on the cover. I picked it up and opened it. Memories from our very first date to the latest were there. A mark was attached to the side of the album to know which year It happened. 10 marks were there, representing our relationship. I opened it and reminisce our memories.

"Channel!" someone called.

I looked over and I noticed a group of boys trying to support their friend. I raised my eyebrow as a sign to ask what is it. Their friend cussed at them and walked to me seemingly shy. As soon as he's Infront of me, he showed me a letter. I looked at the letter and accepted it. His eyes lighted up and his face grew red up to his ears.

"thank you" he said then walked away. Leaving me and his letter. I opened the letter and the letter contains words that seem to convey their feelings to a girl or should I say to me. At the end of the letter, it says "will you go out with me?"

So, his name was Sian. the oldest son among three girls. He is a diligent student and a caring brother according to his sisters. I enjoyed his company that is why we started dating. After a year of dating, I finally made it official. We started dating when we were in 3rd-year high school. I like him hence I made it official.

He introduced me to his parents and they seem to like me. I already met his sisters so that's a plus. I promised him that on the day of our graduation, I would introduce him to my parents.

"1st honorable mention, Channel Assia Sentures"

I marched to the platform with honor. I looked back and saw my boyfriend, Sian clapping so loud it made his seatmates wonder why. He gave me a flying kiss and I smiled. He mouthed "I'm proud of you! I love you!"

"Class valedictorian, Sian Addencio Garbes"

I'm so proud of us! We would study hard but never forget to give our relationship time. We have fun but we know our limits and priorities. I want to be a lawyer and he wants to be an engineer. As the ceremony ended, I dragged him to meet my parents as I promised. My mother greeted me with a hug and my father was behind her looking so proud. They noticed Sian at the back and looked at me questioningly.

"Mama, papa. I want you to meet my boyfriend, Sian." I said as I looked at Sian. I laughed because he looked so pale. I've never seen him so pale. Even when he's reciting hard topics, he looked so calm and collected. The only time I saw him this pale was when I said that I would introduce him to mama and papa.

He combed his hair and brushed his palm to his pants. He whispered, "My palms are sweating, what if they won't like me?" I laughed and pushed him in front. He offered his hands and mama immediately shook it. Papa just kept his stern face and Sian grew paler. My father seemed to notice that he might faint any minute now. He smiled and hugged Sian.

"So, you're the lucky guy. I hope you'll treat my daughter well" mama said to him. Sian smiled and hugged me from the side and nodded.

Time flew by so fast and although we were so busy with him taking up Bachelor of Engineering and me taking up Legal Management. We would take a break from school works and we would date from eating street foods to just watching movies from his phone. It's the little moments that we appreciate the most. Our anniversaries were taken seriously, we would clear our schedule for the day and go on a trip. Going to an amusement park, dining in a fancy restaurant, or just us surprising each other.
