3rd Person POV
After the fuss and chaos of Care of Magical Creatures, it was time for lunch before they made their way to charms. The walk to the great hall was filled nervous glances at Wanda, and whispers from the 3rd years Gryffindors, and Slytherins about her outburst during class.
She tries to ignore them, but it's hard to when it was what everyone is talking and thinking about. Once entering the great hall everyone at the Gryffindor table turns and stares as the four walk in and sit down. When Wanda sits down the people around her whisper and move away.
Wanda huffs and massages her temples, trying to get everyone's thoughts out of her head. Ron, Harry, and Hermione look to her in sympathy as she avoids everyone's glances and gossip. Hermione puts some food on a plate and hands it to her. Wanda gives her a half smile and takes the plate.
Harry goes to speak but Wanda beats him to it. "It's only my first real day here, and everyone is afraid of me. God I'm so stupid!" She raises her voice while shoving her plate away. The three jump in surprise at her sudden outburst but look to her once she darkly chuckles.
Rolling her eyes, and running her hands through her hair she laughs to herself, biting her lip. "I just wanna go one place where I can be excepted. And I already fucked it up." Ron raises his eyebrow and leans forward. "So what, you told off Malfoy. Maybe it was a bit harsh, but the slimy git deserved it. These guys will get over it. Trust me people have done much worse."
Wanda gave him a weak smile and nods her head. As it grows more silent and awkward between the group Harry changes the subject. "So Wanda, are you excited to have your first charms lesson?" Her eyes widen as she looks between them and her food. "Excited isn't exactly the word I would use."
The three look to her in question willing her to elaborate. "With how my two other lessons have gone today I'm just ready to expect the worse." Hermione reaches across the table and takes hold of her hand. Looking her in the eyes she gives her a small grin. "Well you don't have to worry, we'll be with you the whole time if you have questions, and we aren't with Slytherin for this lesson, we're with Hufflepuff. So new faces. No judgment."
Wanda relaxes a little and gives her a slight nod. They eat the rest of their meal in silence waiting for the chimes to go off signaling the end of the period. Once they hear the bells they all gather their belongings and make their way to charms. Leaving the great hall, Wanda walks with her head high, keeping Hermione's words of encouragement constant in her mind. One incident will not determine how the rest of her year will go. It can not get much worse than what has already happened. Or so she thought.
Once entering the charms classroom, Wanda is greeted with the smell of smoke and dust. "This is going to be interesting." she says to herself. Walking to one of the long tables with her friends, she sits down between Harry and Hermione, and pulls out her text book and wand. She fidgets nervously as she waits for the class to being. Harry can sense her discomfort leans over. "I know how you feel, using magic in front of people for the first time can be overwhelming. Just try and listen to the lesson, take notes and you'll be alright."
