Inspired from "What's a soulmate?"

"What's a soulmate?" It is a difficult question, because it has so many definitions. 

"A soulmate is someone, who came in to your life when you excepted it the least." is one definition that I heard.

Another one was: "Oh a soulmate is someone who has the same character as you and that is why you get along so well, that he is your favorite person on earth." 

There are so many definitions and in my opinion they are all right. Why you ask? Well, let me explain it to you: Every human being has his own opinion, his own unique character and with his unique quirk. Nobody is perfect, even if they seem like they are. Soo it is only logical, that so many people have different definitions of "What's a soulmate?" 

Some people say that a soulmate is a person, but other people say an animal or art, music or even objects can be your soulmate, too. Some people say a soulmate is bringing you comfort, a soulmate is connected to your soul and that is why it feels like they are always right by your side. Some people say a soulmate is someone you are in love with, while others say that you don't need to be in love with your soulmate, you just love them and it doesn't matter if it is romantic, platonic or any other kind of love, as long as it is love. 

But the reason why I am writing this is because I can't keep my thoughts and my opinion to myself. I can't walk up to people and start talking about it, mostly because I have these thoughts at 1 am or 4 am. I don't want to get famous or anything. Deep down I want to tell people what I think. I want  that people see some things through my eyes. I want people to see what I see and also I want to discuss them, so I can see other perspectives. But back to the topic of "what's a soulmate?". 

Well, this is only my opinion, my thoughts and my experience:

I am a very curious person, I always ask too many questions and the funny thing about this is that most of the times people can't answer my questions. But my mother did a great thing, she never answered my questions on purpose, even if she knew the answers to my questions, she didn't tell me them. Of course, it is hard to talk with someone who doesn't answer your questions, but the thing she taught me  was to try to get an answer myself before I go on and ask other people about something. I once asked my grandmother and mother "what is a soulmate?" and my grandmother went on about telling all this different definitions, she told me about every little emotion that you feel with your soulmate or that you should feel with your soulmate. But in the end I was still wondering what is a soulmate? So I went on and asked my mother and she gave me an advise:

"Sofia, you can ask ten other people the same question and you would get ten different definitions. Some questions don't have only one answer, because to questions like this one, you make your own opinion. You make your own answer and even that answer will change over time. If you want to know what a soulmate is, then go out there and meet your soulmate. You will know when you have found your soulmate, because your soulmate is one special person on earth that will make you feel thousands emotions at the same time. These emotions will be stronger than any other, because your love to your soulmate and the love that this creature will give to you is unrepeatable!" My young me asked her "But how will I know if I have strong emotions for a person? How will I know that someone is my real soulmate and not me just being over emotional?" The following things she said to me didn't make sense to me, because at that time I didn't know my special person, but now I understand it, because I am going through all this what she told me:

"I can describe the emotions that you could feel. The first thing you will notice when you meet your soulmate is that from right of the start you have a deep connection to him or her.It will feel as if you have known this person for your whole life. Also you will treat your soulmate different from everybody else. And the best thing is your soulmate will feel the some things as you do and your soulmate will show you everything about them and their emotions. Your soulmate is the person, you will trust the most and they will give you their trust. And especially they won't leave you because of your mistakes, they will try to teach you how to become a better person. They will challenge you to put everything out of you. They will try with their whole heart to see that beautiful smile on your face and they would do anything to make sure that you are happy and safe. They will love you unconditionally and you will love them as equal as they do with you. There are going to be people who act like your soulmate, but you will soon realize that they are not your soulmate." 

My mother talked with me for a long time about this topic, but you will understand everything that she told me if you have meet your soulmate. It is difficult to explain what a soulmate is, because of many reasons, but our heart and our gut feeling knows when you have meet your soulmate.
