There is no explanation. Iwaizumi was going crazy. He couldn't lead a normal life. Everyday there would be something to remind him of his dark past. Whether it be a bracelet, ropes, or for fucks sake the color blue! It was a horrible thing for him. Makki and Mattsun worried and tried to help but everything they did just angered Hajime. He yelled and cried until his voice broke every night. He did have a job, but it was at night because he can't sleep.
After work, he would stare at that bouquet. The bouquet left behind at Oikawa's funeral. The one with no name, the one with the picture, the one Iwaizumi could not stop thinking about. For months it was Oikawa, Oikawa, Oikawa. Always skeptical, "Did he really die? Was it all staged?" He sure hoped it wasn't, because if it is..

He's fucking dead.

...

"Hey, Iwa." Iwaizumi was shaken out of his trance by his best friend. "What is it Makki?" The other scratched his neck in nervousness as he continued his speech. "I think you need some professional help.." Iwaizumi furrowed his brows in confusion. "What are you talking about? No therapist is going to help my condition nor understand what I feel." Makki sighed, "Listen, I have a friend who's licensed in this shit. I assure you he can help." Mattsun nudged Hajime, "That little shit is right. You deserve to be happy and move on dude." Iwaizumi took a deep breath and nodded in agreement. "If I don't get any results from this you all owe me tofu."
"You're always so pessimistic." Makki said while smiling, "Always expecting the worst.." Hajime just rolled his eyes. It seems he feels uneasy. He's been feeling this way for a while though, so it doesn't phase him much. Mattsun laid down on Iwaizumi's lap. "You need to get laid motherfucker." The other stood up and chased Mattsun around the house, Makki's house, since he wouldn't dare step foot in to that hell hole again. Never again. It's a murderous place reeking of blood.
"You guys are stupid! Don't break anything! I paid for all of this with my own money!" Makki yelled while Mattsun stuck his tongue out to taunt him. Hajime was okay here, he was happy here.

happy? what a joke. iwa-chan, you'll never be happy without me.

There it goes again, that voice inside his head. Telling him things Oikawa would. Letting him know that happiness and freedom is un-achievable. Getting more into his thoughts about this voice, he slows down while chasing Mattsun, and slowly comes to a stop. Makki and the other make eye contact and take Hajime back to the couch. "Don't stress yourself out too much. We're here for you." Iwaizumi smiled weakly, "Thanks, Makki. Just.. thanks, to the both of you." Mattsun and Makki nodded and left the room.

...

The next morning, all three of the boys were in the kitchen eating breakfast. Iwaizumi cooked while Makki and Mattsun sat and tried not to fall asleep. Iwaizumi sighed as he cracked another egg. "Hey, Iwaizumi." "What?" "I scheduled your appointment today." Iwaizumi turned the stove on a low heat and walked over to Makki. "Are you serious? I have the appointment in thirty minutes? It's 8:00 am for fucks sake! I've got an important appointment and here I am making breakfast for you two lazy asses. Go make your own breakfast or eat what I left behind!" Hajime leaves the room and gets dressed for his appointment
"Did you really have to tell him while he's feeding us?" Mattsun sighed as he rested his head on the kitchen table. Makki played with the others hair, "Did you forget how to cook or did you just want to see Iwaizumi flex as he whisked the eggs?" The other chuckled and they both giggled together.
"Hey, you two idiots! I'm heading out! Make sure you guys eat and stay safe while I'm gone." Hajime heads out the door and borrows Makki's key's on the way. The two inside just locked eyes. "He's gonna burn the place down." "Yep." Mattsun said and then they both finished the breakfast that Iwaizumi began.

"Mr. Iwaizumi?" He heard his name and walked up to the front desk. "Yes? That's me." The worker pointed him into a room and Hajime followed her directions. He took a deep breath and stepped inside the office. He was met with a man with a comforting smile, silver hair that most people would call grey, but he looked so young. "Hello, I'll be your therapist from here on." Iwaizumi nodded and sat down across from the other.
"I hear you have some issues?" Iwaizumi sighed, "I have a lot, doc." The man smiled again and gestured him to continue. "If you have anything you want to let out, I am all ears. Your situation is completely confidential between the two of us and will not be leaked." Hajime sighed in relief, "Doctor, I don't think this is something you can help." "I hear that a lot, try me."

Iwaizumi tells him everything from the start. The doctor becomes uneasy but still remains calm on his exterior.

"This is unfortunate, but it's okay. Even the toughest scars can heal." Iwaizumi seemed happy with that statement. Maybe there was hope he could heal. As soon as he was about to ask more questions as to how the treatment would work, something popped in his mind. "Hey, this might sound intrusive but, were you on a volleyball team in high school?" The doctor gasped, "Yes! I can't believe I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Sugawara.. Sugawara Koushi?"
"Oh, from Karasuno?" "Yes!" "I wanted to say something about Oikawa when you told me the story but I felt as if you wouldn't have been happy with that." Hajime sighed, "I don't think I can really handle any mention of him." Sugawara smiled softly, "That's part of the healing process. You have to face it to overcome it." Iwaizumi nodded, "You're right. I have to listen to you if I wanna make any progress." "Yes, good. You're very obedient."

obedient?

"Thank you?" Iwaizumi looked confused. "Oh, my apologies. I didn't mean to come off weird." Koushi opened his notes and wrote a few things down. Hajime could swear he already saw things written down, but he assumed it was from past appointments.

•••

"Thank you for coming in today." Sugawara shook Iwaizumi's hand and the client left the room. Three hours had passed and in that time Iwaizumi told Koushi all about his nightmares and triggers. As he head home, he noticed a flash in his peripheral vision. He turned quickly but saw nothing. "Paranoia, he talked about that." Hajime kept driving ahead and pulled into the drive way. He walked inside, jangling his keys as he hummed a tune he heard on the radio.
"Iwa." "Chan." Iwaizumi froze with his hand on the doorknob. He could feel the tears welling up, his hand shake, his blood boil, and his heart beat (along with his breathing) becoming uneven. He felt a hand caress his cheek and grip his neck from behind, but loose enough so he doesn't run out of air. "I don't know why you saw that therapist whore today. You know you can't leave me. You see that little mind of yours? I'm always inside it. Always."
Hajime turned around rapidly, ready to attack, but saw nothing. The voices in his head were getting stronger. He ran inside and threw himself on the couch. He stared at the blinds in the living room. He began thinking about everything. Wondering where he went wrong. Why him? What did he do? Lost in his own thoughts, he saw a flash again. The camera flash. This time he knew he wasn't mistaken, as he was staring right into it this time. He put on his jacket to walk outside but the person was gone. All that was left behind was a photo. A photo of him, looking at the mysterious bouquet, at Oikawa's funeral.

He's here. He has to be. He's always on the inside.
