The Kid

The boss gathered us to wait in the briefing room. I heard from Lehm that we were getting a new teammate. There were quite a few of us, we alone made nine was one more really needed. I guess Koko just realy likes even numbers. She was always the type to do something on a whim. I shook my head with a chuckle thinking of all the times she got us knee deep in crap cause of a 'feeling'. Almost every time she was correct but still.

The problem we had now was a bit more important to me than a new guy, we were stuck in the middle of bloody Eastern Europe for goodness sake. Could we not meet this guy when we got back to base.

Moa and Wiley were outside and from what I heard Koko was getting closer too. It was hard not to hear her lovely voice when she was in command mode.

Lehm was by the door drinking his red whine ,I assume it was wine, until the boss came beaming in, slamming the door on him breaking his glass. I had that 'told you so' face as I tried not to laugh at the fool. I told him to move away from the door but did the old fart listen, nope. Play stupid game win stupid prizes.

We all stared at Koko and the child next to her. Oh no. Please don't tell me. Damn it Koko you crazy woman. Of course I didn't say it out loud but still, was this kid really... Some part of me wanted this to be a sick joke or a huge misunderstanding. Then I remembered that it was Koko I was working for.

"Say hello to Jonah. " He's the new recruit, a child soldier? And he is already packing heat, damn. You could basically hear everyone say it in their heads. Of course no one said anything out loud. Valmet would make quick work out of their asses for sure, if you were dumb enough to say anything well it was just natural selection at that point.

Koko clapped getting our attention again. "No need to freak out guys . Now Tojo could you explain our pickle so we're all on the same page."

"Hasn't really changed. The bastards still have our container impounded at the port."Lehm walked up behind him to look over his shoulder at the computer he was using to keep tabs on the situations. "The custom's office want you to give them a call. My guess is that their gonna demand a higher price than we originally agreed too."

"They never planned on letting it through in the first place." She laughed and turned to Jonah. "You see the situation, the goods in that container belong to us and we need to get them back. Ok?"

"I don't really care about the big picture. All I need to know is who to shoot and where they are. Simple as that." I shook my head. No matter what generation or where they came from child soldiers are all the same.

"Lehm, Valmet, Prepare to move out. " With one more clap of her hands they left.

I was a bit disappointed I couldn't come along but a day of relaxing never killed anyone.

Luckily the job went well and the containers were retrieved.

To early in the morning for my liking Koko summoned us all to the briefing room in a bit of a panic.

"We have an emergency! Three hours ago a transport team crossed the northern boarder! If the intel I got is correct their carrying fifteen Mi-24V helicopters. They have been dismantled and stuffed in with spare parts for concealment. Judging by the timing sounds like someone got wind of our resent success and they want a peace of the action. So now their trying their hand at it."

"I know stuff like this happens all the time. Unfortunately the info on this came directly from headquarters, So if we screw this up it's gonna cost us big!" She groaned before throwing herself on the table and rolling around chant big.

I bloody love my job.

"We need to deal with this tooth sweet. First we intercept the goods but if they try and play hard ball we may have some obstacles to eliminate so take a moment to prepare."

A long dead "K~~." was her only response.

"Right, you guys are pros you know what you're doin'."

"Togo, Valmet you'll negotiate with National Defense. Lehm, Ujo, Lutz, Moa, Charlie get your gear, you'll be my backup. Wiley, R stay here and handle communications with the brass. Jonah you're with me. Lets go."

And with that we were all up on our feet making ourselves busy. Rushing to my room were I kept all my equipment I geared up of course switching out my half white mask for a grey full one, have to keep up with the aesthetic and all. I laughed loaded my magazine and made my way into the back seat of the van. Ujo of course driving.

"Come on slow pokes lets go before Koko has our asses for bein' late. I'm looking at you Lutz." I said putting my magazines in their holders.

"Hold your horses I'm coming." he says jumping into the van slamming the door. "Hey who the hells door you fell you slamming back there." Ugo scolded starting the car and speeding off.

In no time we passed by the car Koko was driving in with Jonah.

Ujo laughed. "Uh hell yeah." "What's that? Lutz asked confused by his sudden statement just like the rest of us. "She said good hunting."

"It's been far to long." Moa grinned. " Oh yeah huntin' time. "Lutz chuckled "Best damn job ever." I added, everyone sharing the same sinister look.

"The boss can be extreme sometimes, and I like it~" Lehm finished earning a nodded from the rest of us in agreement. What can I say, great minds think alike.

In no time at all we were able to lets just say make the snipers and guards a past tense. While Lutz was setting up his sniper, Lehm and I went over the building one more time to make sure we got ever single rat.

When we got back to the room Lutz was done setting up and we got a call. I picked it up. "Hello, you have reached Charlie how may I be of assistance to you today?" No answer. "Hello~. Anyone on the other side of this thing?..... How rude." I hung up with a chuckle the only think I heard on the other end was confused and concerned, rightfully so, gasps.

Things most have been going well then.

"Hey Koko wants us to meet at the muster point. Pack it up." Lehm ordered.

The rented apartment Koko assigned as the mustered point wasn't all that bad. We had time to shower, get the blood and sweat off us and Koko suggested we let Jonah try and cook. While it took rather long it didn't look bad. (She would be wearing the mask on the cover I assume for eating.)

It was terrible. Bullets hurt less than eating it but through mental drive, determination, stubborn pride, hunger and a bit of stupidity I managed to finish an entire plate.

"Never gets meal duty again." R groaned. "How the hell did you finish this Charlie?" Lutz grumbled holding his stomach.

"Food is food, if you're hungry enough even a fork can look tasty."

"So you liked it?" Jonah ask.

"Oh fuck no. Sorry Jonah but people have talents and cooking just isn't one of yours. I'll go order a pizza." I got up and took my phone out my pocket.

"Thank you~" Moa cried.

"Of course anyone who can't finish a wittle plate of food like a big boy before pizza gets here doesn't have a problem paying, with the exception of Koko of course."

Groans all around.
