"So the last skater in this final group is ready to go. She has been chasing her former training mate Evgenia Medvedeva for the last two years, much like the rest of the figure skating world. Medvedeva is the reigning world, European and Russian champ, she has not lost a single competition in the two years that she has competed as a senior and is currently in first place after her short program."

"On the ice now is our last skater, seventeen year old Darianka Savchuk is the Ukrainian national champion and came very close to being European champion just a few months ago, I'm curious to see what kind of changes she made to her programs!"

"REPRESENTING UKRAINE, DARIANKA SAVCHUK"

"I just love her short program this season, don't you Johnny?"

"Yes, I love me a good tango! She's such a delight to watch and you can see how much she improved her performances since the beginning of the season!"

"And that's the first jump, an amazing triple flip!"

"I love the composition of her program, the elements are so well spread out wouldn't you agree Tara?"

"Yeah, as much as I love Medvedeva's program I have to say that I prefer when the jumps aren't back to back to each other!"

"We're now going to see two spins. She is such a well balanced skater, not only are her jumps technically brilliant but her spins and skating skills are excellent as well! Alright we're in the second half of her program and her next jumping pass is a brand new combination for her, we've never seen her do it in competition before!"

"Wow! Triple lutz triple loop! This is the highest scoring combination we've seen today, just beautiful and she added both arms above her head on the lutz!"

"And here's the last jump, double Axel out of footwork! It's amazing how much height and distance she gets!"

"Well we all know she's capable of doing a triple axel!"

"Now that all her jumps are done she's onto her step sequence, this is where she can really let loose and give herself over to the music completely. The audience clearly loves it and so do I!"

"Onto her last element, the layback spin..."

"Would you look at that Tara? What a brilliant skate! We might have a new leader here..."

"Oh yeah, I can even tell that she added transitions and footwork in between elements, that's bound to increase her component score!"

"We thought that Medvedeva was untouchable but Darianka Savchuk just went and proved us wrong. We didn't think that anyone could do more and she just did!"

"I'd definitely say that she's getting closer and closer to Medvedeva, but there's still the free program so nothing is decided yet!"

"You're right Tara. I like the fact that the competition in the ladies category is starting to get tighter, it's much interesting to watch!"

"There she is in the kiss and cry, probably very anxious to see her scores!"
