Spider-Lin and Iron Bumi

Meelo's 6th Birthday was in a hour and Kya has to convince her wife to dress up as Spiderman. The young airbender's favorite avengers were Iron Man and Spiderman and Kya was determined to make his avenger themed birthday party a success.

"Pleaseeeee Lin! It will make his birthday party even better! Your his hero anyways!" Kya begged. "I'll even reward you afterwards.." This caught Lin's interest.

"Fine. What do I have to do and how much time do I have to prepare?" The metal bender sighed and rubbed her temples.

"Uh.. an hour and here's your costume. Go get ready! I'll meet you at ATI." Kya ran off before Lin could yell and Lin looked at the suit.

The Chief changed into the Spiderman costume and put her hair up so that it wouldn't look weird under the mask. She grabbed a trench coat and a pair of cables before making her way to Air Temple Island where Bumi was waiting for her at the docks... In a Iron Man suit... Oh god.

Bumi: "Hey Chief! Surprising Meelo too?" Lin nodded and Bumi gestured for her to follow him. They went to a part of the island she had never seen before. "It's close to the party but far enough for them not to see us. Kya will give us a signal then I'll 'fly' myself in with you swinging on your cables behind me. You brought your cables right?"

Lin: "Mhm. This is never gonna be lived down is it?" Bumi shook his head 'no' and they both sighed.

Bumi: "I love being the fun uncle but this is just..."

Lin and Bumi: "Embarrassing."

Lin: "Were you bribed into this as well?"

Bumi: "Terribly." They both were silent for a while before they heard Kya's voice.

"Alright everyone! I have a surprise for the Birthday Boy so if y'all would come on outside!" Bumi nodded at Lin and she took her trench coat off and hid the cables under her suit. "Meelo stand riiiight here." That was the signal. Air formed under Bumi's hands and Lin quickly put the Spiderman mask on before swinging towards the party.

They both flew around before Lin decided to spice it up. "Hey Iron Man! Backflip!" She said loud enough for him to hear but low enough so that the party wouldn't. He nodded and they both did a backflip before landing in front of the party. The kids cheered along with Korra and Bolin.

"Asami did you see that! It's freaking Spiderman!" Korra gushed not realizing it was the chief. The Sato on the other hand, knew exactly who it was and waved to the Beifong.

"Yes Korra I saw." Asami responded with a chuckle. Lin waved back and turned her attention to the birthday boy.

"Mom! Look!" Meelo yelled as he stared at the two 'superheros'. Lin kicked Bumi legs from under him and everyone gasped.

In the deepest voice Lin could muster up she said, "Come on Iron Boy. You must be too weak to fight back." Little did everyone know, Lin had put metal plates under her feet and in the palms of her hands. She jumped up on top of the roof and casually walked while giving Bumi a challenging stare. Bumi jumped up next to her with a gust of air and the two started fighting. Everyone cheered as Lin did a flip and her feet landed on the side of the building, the metal plates keeping her from falling. She did the classic Spiderman pose.

Mako came up next to Asami and whispered to her. "Is that the Chief?" The non-bender nodded and he look genuinely surprised as he walked back to Bolin who was gushing to Korra over Spiderman's moves.

Lin and Bumi were throwing fake punches at each other before Lin 'took down' Bumi.

Meelo nearly lost his voice when his favorite superhero won the 'fight'. Bumi 'flew' out of sight and Lin swung on her cables back to the hiding spot.

Kya: "Alright everyone back inside for refreshments!" All the kids and adults went inside while Kya went to find her brother and girlfriend. When she arrived, the first thing she did was give Bumi five bucks and Lin a kiss on the cheek. "You both did great! Did you practice before?"

Bumi: "No that was all Lin. The backflip, the fight, the side of the building move. Even the classic Spiderman pose. I just followed along."

Lin: "Had to make it fun for me too. God knows I've been wanting to beat your ass for a while now." Kyalin laughed as Bumi flipped her off.

Kya: "Alright Alright. Bumi go change and Lin I have a outfit for you in my room."

*A Few Minutes Later*

"Aunt Lin!" Meelo yelled as he ran towards her. "You missed it! Spiderman and Iron Man came and they fought and Spiderman won!"

"Iron Man always seemed weak to me anyways." She said with a smirk. "So sad I missed it though."

Soon after Meelo finished filling his aunt in, he ran back to his friends from school. Tenzin came and thanked her coming.

Lin: "I wouldn't miss it."

Tenzin: "Say... You mentioned you were off all day today. Why didn't you show up on time?"

Lin: "Been here for like the past hour or so." Tenzin thought for a moment before he realized. Then he chuckled. "Keep laughing and I'll rip your arrows off." The air bending master knew when Lin made a threat, she made sure to make it come true so he stopped laughing. He quickly walked away and went back to his family.

Asami walked up next to Lin and they stood there in silence for a while before the non-bender spoke up. "Not gonna lie, that was really cool. Think you can do that again for Korra's next birthday party?" They both chuckled.

"Haha! No." Lin looked around at the avenger themed party and smiled slightly. By now, Asami went back to her girlfriend who was still gushing about Spiderman. Kya came up next to her. "You still owe me my reward."

Kya: "Don't worry you'll get it when we get home." Lin smirked and a hour later, she did indeed get her reward.

Let's just say she called out from work the next day.
