" 3 Blueberry Pancakes, with a side of bacon?" I said repeating the order to Lorelai Gilmore, who was sitting down in one of the many tables at Luke's Diner. "Yup" Lorelai responded.
"And keep 'em coming"
"Will do" I said laughing as I tucked my pencil behind my ear.
I set down the notepad where I wrote all the orders down on the counter for Luke to see as I grabbed a plate and headed over to where another customer was sitting. I enjoyed working at the diner, it was peaceful and calming, and really helped me sort my thoughts as I took orders, handed people food, and refilled coffee mugs. Luke, my boss, was nice enough. I'd known him my whole life, and while to the average eye he comes off as a grumpy unmarried man without any friends, he definitely has a soft spot. You just have to dig a little deep to find it. Right?Luke's voice suddenly arose me from my thoughts,
"We're in a lull, shifts over"
"What?" I said looking up as I wiped a rag over a table that was practically begging to have a good scrub after a two-year-old had just finished eating there.
Luke's Diner normally closed around 10-ish not around 4:00. Not that I was complaining.
"My nephews coming to live with me for a while, so I'm closing up early while we have no customers to prepare" He said.
Nephew? Luke had family? Of course he has family, Allie. I thought to myself. Luke really just didn't seem like the "HEY! I would love for my nephew to come and live with me" Type of guy. No offense to Luke."Nephew?" I questioned.
"How old?"
"Seventeen" He responded, putting the condiments back into their home that consisted of a basket on top of a shelf.
"He's a rising junior too, and he'll be going to your school, maybe you'll see him around"
"Maybe" I said still processing this but of information. Hmm, nephew? Seventeen? Possible friend? Who knew."Rory, hey!" I said, walking over to one of my best friends, Rory Gilmore, who was sitting, reading a book on a bench inside the gazebo.
"Oh hey Allie" she said, bookmarking her page. "Shouldn't you be at Luke's?"
"Sounds like somebody misses me while I'm slaving away at a diner earning minimum wage" I said jokingly, sitting down beside her. She laughed. "Sorry" She said closing her book. "But seriously, why are you off so early?"
"That's what I came over here to talk to you about" I said. "Is everything alright?" Rory asked, her brow furrowing, looking worried. Now, to most people, the owner of a diner closing early, wouldn't be a big deal. But the Luke Danes was a completely different story.
"Oh no, nothings wrong, but guess what?"
"What?!" Rory asked.
"His nephews coming to live with him, he's our age!"
"Ooh, potential 'more than a friend boyfriend material?'" Rory asked, smiling.
"Ro-ry" I said in an exasperated tone.
"Kidding, kidding"Hi, this is my first book that I've ever published on Wattpad before, and I'm nog the most experienced writer so my apologies for that LOL. Also- This story isn't going to fit exactly to how the story goes, there may (and probably will be) events that weren't mentioned in the show, or there may be events that won't be mentioned, but we're in the show. As well as, there might be some stuff that doesn't make sense in the show or the timing won't be exactly right, but I don't necessarily want the story to follow along exactly with the show. Thanks for reading loves! 💗💗 <3
